The lawsuit \u200daccuses the Vermont Department for Children and Families of rescinding their foster care licenses based on their Christian convictions. The families claim violations of their constitutional rights.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Several Christian families say that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/vermont\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vermont<\/a> has kicked them out of the state\u2019s foster care system because of their views on gender and sexuality, according to a lawsuit filed on Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/first-heritage-foundation.s3.amazonaws.com\/live_files\/2024\/06\/FILED-complaint.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">lawsuit<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, filed by Brian and Kaitlyn Wuoti and Michael and Rebecca Gantt, accused the Vermont Department for Children and Families of revoking their foster care licenses because of their Christian beliefs. The suit, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2024\/06\/04\/exclusive-vermont-blocked-two-christian-families-fostering-gender-ideology-lawsuit-alleges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">first reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  on by The Daily Signal, was filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont Windham Division.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cVermont\u2019s foster-care system faces a crisis,\u201d the lawsuit says. \u201cBut, with this emergent need, the Department recently decided to exclude all families with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/d-w-wilber-theres-a-cancer-eating-at-america\/\" title=\"D.W. Wilber: There's a Cancer Eating at America\">traditional religious beliefs<\/a> about human sexuality from fostering or adopting any child. This ideological campaign puts politics above people and gender ideology over children\u2019s best interests. It is harmful, unnecessary, and unconstitutional.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The suit says that Vermont has violated the families\u2019 First Amendment rights to free speech, free association, and exercise of religion, as well as their Fourteenth Amendment right to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-kraken-released-attorney-sidney-powell-files-104-page-bombshell-complaint-of-massive-fraud-in-georgia-election-update-michigan-too\/\" title=\"BREAKING: KRAKEN RELEASED! It asks that the state\u2019s guidance on sexual and gender identity be deemed unconstitutional.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAlthough the Wuotis and Gantts have adopted five children between them, the Department has determined they are unfit to foster or adopt any child solely due to their religiously inspired and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/opinion-requiring-proof-of-vaccination-is-a-slippery-slope\/\" title=\"Opinion: Requiring Proof Of Vaccination Is A Slippery Slope\">widely held belief<\/a> that girls cannot become boys or vice versa,\u201d the suit says.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The department told the families that they must adhere to the state\u2019s position on gender issues \u201ceven if the foster parents hold divergent personal opinions or beliefs,\u201d according to the suit. T<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">he state asked them whether they would take a child to a Pride parade or use pronouns not aligning with a child\u2019s sex. Both families said no and that their licenses had not been renewed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1700760801843000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2PQrVSrJfhxNb4LcARqniG\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe were surprised, because they are typically always trying to match children with families as best they can, and so we assumed maybe they would say, \u2018Ok, maybe we won\u2019t place an LGBT child with this family,\u2019\u201d Brian Wuoti told The Daily Signal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to the suit, caseworkers had previously reported good experiences working with the families. For example, one caseworker referred to the Wuotis in 2022 as \u201cAMAZING\u201d and said she \u201cprobably could not hand pick a more wonderful foster family,\u201d according to the suit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The battle in Vermont comes as the Biden administration has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/exclusive-sen-marshall-challenges-proposed-hhs-rule-that-would-force-foster-parents-to-accept-extreme-gender-ideology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">put forth<\/a> a foster care placement rule that critics say would force foster parents to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-sen-marshall-takes-new-step-to-fight-extreme-hhs-rule-that-would-force-foster-parents-to-accept-gender-ideology\/\" title=\"Sen.
