Feuer \u200dinitially called\u200b it false but\u200b later admitted the claim was \u2064accurate. Feuer criticized Trump&#8217;s statements for \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/arizona-legislature-introduces-first-in-nation-resolution-to-protect-against-democrat-court-packing\/\" title=\"Arizona Legislature Introduces First-In-Nation Resolution To Protect Against Democrat 'Court Packing'\">political gain<\/a>.\u2064 The\u2064 report highlighted contradictions \u200cin the authorization of lethal force and \u200bthe\u200c planned\u200d presence\u200b of weapons. Social media responses pointed out the inconsistency \u200cin the reporting.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>New York Times reporter Alan Feuer repeatedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/06\/05\/us\/politics\/trump-fbi-documents-threats.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">called<\/a> Donald Trump\u2019s assertion that the FBI was authorized to use lethal force against him during its 2022 raid of Mar-a-Lago false,\u00a0while ultimately acknowledging that the claim\u00a0was in fact true.<\/p>\n<p>Feuer wrote in an article Wednesday, \u201cMr. Trump\u2019s baseless statements about the search are among the starkest examples of the ways in which he has sought to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-oklahoma-rep-markwayne-mullin-accuses-biden-of-intentional-border-crisis-making-all-states-border-states\/\" title=\"Exclusive: Oklahoma Rep. Markwayne Mullin Accuses Biden of \u2018Intentional\u2019 Border Crisis, Making All States \u2018Border States\u2019\">gain political advantage<\/a>.\u201d He continued his attack on the former president, stating that Trump \u201cfalsely accused Mr. Biden of having \u2018authorized the FBI to use deadly (lethal) force\u2019 during the search.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1861315204\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-3756aac35c079bea31bae7d47cae4c6d fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-3756aac35c079bea31bae7d47cae4c6d\"><\/div>\n<p>But just before that portion of his article, Feuer directly contradicted himself. When referring to the Mar-a-Lago raid, he said, \u201cIn this case, the [Justice Department] order said, lethal force could be employed only if there was \u2018imminent danger of death or serious physical injury\u2019 to the agents themselves or to any others who were on the ground that day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/trump-fbi-classified-documents-deadly-force-1903247\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Newsweek<\/a>, federal agents on the scene had planned to bring weapons, which included firearms, ammo, handcuffs, and large-size bolt cutters.<\/p>\n<p>Federalist columnist Eddie Scarry pointed out Feuer\u2019s glaring contradiction on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">social media<\/a>, saying, \u201cNYTimes: Use of lethal force in the Mar-A-Lago raid was authorized because that\u2019s how things go, duh. Feuer further wrote that Trump \u201ctried to flip the facts,\u201d and was \u201ctwisting the meaning of boilerplate instructions to the agents.\u201d He also characterized Trump\u2019s factual assertion as \u201cblatantly false\u201d and \u201cbaseless.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1dbc1031dbd436aeba257f074e7062b2 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1dbc1031dbd436aeba257f074e7062b2\"><\/div>\n<p>In his <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/04\/merrick-garland-blows-off-concern-that-fbi-was-authorized-to-kill-trump-in-mar-a-lago-raid-as-false\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">testimony<\/a> on Tuesday in front of the House Judiciary Committee, Attorney General Merrick Garland, who personally signed off on the Mar-a-Lago raid, echoed the lie that the FBI did not have authorization to use lethal force against Trump if necessary, stating, \u201cThe allegation is false.\u201d Garland attacked the former president, saying his claims were \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/4702347-garland-trump-assassination-claim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">baseless<\/a>,\u201d then in the same breath uttering it is standard protocol for the FBI to authorize the use of deadly force in search warrants.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.declassified.live\/p\/fbi-authorized-use-of-deadly-force?r=4yy1i&#038;utm_campaign=post&#038;utm_medium=web\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">released document<\/a>, agents had explicit authorization to use deadly force on the former president and staff at the officers\u2019 discretion.
