He <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7ny.com\/post\/gilgo-beach-suspect-serial-killer-rex-heuermann-murders\/14917073\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">had been expected<\/a> to be charged with only one additional murder.<\/p>\n<p>Part of Taylor\u2019s remains were found near Gilgo Beach and more were found in a wooded area of Manorville, which is further east. Costilla\u2019s murder was thought to be caused by another person, as her remains were found in Southampton, New York.<\/p>\n<p>The dates of these two murders expand the suspect\u2019s alleged killing spree by two decades.<\/p>\n<p>The charges come just weeks after police went back to the suspect\u2019s home in Massapequa to <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7ny.com\/post\/gilgo-beach-suspect-serial-killer-rex-heuermann-murders\/14917073\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">search for additional evidence<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7ny.com\/post\/gilgo-beach-suspect-serial-killer-rex-heuermann-murders\/14917073\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was arrested<\/a> on July 13, 2023. He was initially charged with the murders of three women.\u00a0The suspect has pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>The remains of 11 people were found in the Gilgo Beach area, but not all have been connected to the current suspect.<\/p>\n<p>Six days after his arrest, his wife filed for divorce.
