Emmanuel<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   June 6, 2024 at 6:10am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>Former President Donald Trump will address some of the nation\u2019s most powerful corporate leaders next week when he participates in a moderated discussion at the Business Roundtable\u2019s quarterly meeting in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>The Business Roundtable, an association representing more than 200 chief executives of major U.S. companies, confirmed Trump had accepted an invitation to speak at the closed-door moderated event on June 13, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2024-election\/donald-trump-attend-private-meeting-business-roundtable-weeks-convicti-rcna155622\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients will address the CEOs as President Joe Biden will be traveling overseas for a Group of 7 summit, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>For Trump, who is campaigning for a return to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/donald-trump-elon-musk-meet-discuss-potential-white-house-role-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">White House<\/a>, the meeting presents an opportunity to make his case to business leaders about how he would handle economic issues and policy.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/djt.nucleusemail.com\/amplify\/v\/mpEzgft9rR?hids=On6ZfBJXZR&#038;utm_medium=email&#038;utm_source=ncl_amplify&#038;utm_campaign=240604-president_donald_j_trump_to_participate_in_a_moderated_discussion_at_business_roundtables_quarterly_meeting_in_washington_dc&#038;utm_content=ncl-GwqwUHdDnW&#038;_nlid=GwqwUHdDnW&#038;_nhids=On6ZfBJXZR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news release<\/a> about the Business Roundtable on Wednesday, the former president\u2019s campaign touted his accomplishments and said he would speak about \u201chow he will restore prosperity to the American economy, like he did during his first term.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">President Donald J. Every American was better off just four years ago when inflation was 1.4%\u00a0 because of President Trump\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-mitt-romney-reveals-touch-painful-admission-america-first\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">America First<\/a> policies.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Can Trump&#8217;s pro-business policies help make America successful again?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>According to Gene Marks, the founder of a small-business consulting firm, Americans should \u201cexpect big changes for small businesses\u201d if Trump becomes president.<\/p>\n<p>A major priority of a second Trump presidency would likely be addressing the expiration dates on several key provisions in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, one of the signature achievements of Trump\u2019s first term, Marks wrote in an opinion piece for <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/opinion\/finance\/4458737-expect-big-changes-for-small-business-under-a-second-trump-presidency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Among the measures set to phase out in the next couple of years is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-alfredo-ortiz-protect-taxpayers-and-the-economy-by-making-the-tax-cuts-and-jobs-act-permanent\/\" title=\"Exclusive\u2014Alfredo Ortiz: Protect Taxpayers and the Economy by Making the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act Permanent\">qualified business income deduction<\/a> for S-corporations and partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>This tax break has proved very popular with small business owners and entrepreneurs since taking effect.<\/p>\n<p>Marks wrote that Trump is expected to push for extending, if not making permanent, this deduction as well as other corporate and individual tax cut provisions from the 2017 overhaul. The presumptive GOP nominee has consistently championed the legislation as fueling economic growth and job creation.<\/p>\n<p>Businesses could see significant regulatory relief from federal agencies that have increasingly tightened oversight in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>By appointing new leaders as terms expire at bodies such as the Federal Trade Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and National Labor Relations Board, Trump\u2019s administration would have an opportunity to unwind policies viewed as overly burdensome by many companies.<\/p>\n<p>Trump nominees would be expected to move to roll back policies instituted by these agencies that made it easier for workers to unionize and eliminated certain non-compete employment contract clauses, according to Marks.<\/p>\n<p>For many companies struggling with inflation and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nearly-half-of-small-businesses-raised-prices-due-to-inflation-survey-finds\/\" title=\"Nearly Half Of Small Businesses Raised Prices Due To Inflation, Survey Finds\">high labor costs<\/a>, that could provide meaningful breathing room.<\/p>\n<p>While Trump\u2019s proposed tariffs on countries such as<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/china-warns-world-limits-beijings-restraint\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> China<\/a> might have some more pushback from manufacturers and retailers heavily reliant on global supply chains, producers of domestic raw materials could benefit from limiting foreign competition.<\/p>\n<p>While he applied some caveats, Marks indicated his overall expectation is that things would significantly improve for small businesses under Trump.<\/p>\n<p>After enduring the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/blue-state-paradise-vacant-nyc-storefronts-creating-havoc-nearly-double-since-pandemic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pandemic<\/a>, inflation, and a tidal wave of new workplace rules, businesses can finally look for calmer waters and clearer skies under Trump\u2019s pro-business agenda.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a chance for them to focus on building the economy, take risks, and invest more into their businesses without being bogged down by bureaucratic overreach.<\/p>\n<p>Many small business owners are probably counting the days.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>\u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d Those 12 words have been stuck in my head since I first read them. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Former Lt.
