He has also been indicted in California on nine additional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/taxes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>tax<\/a>-related counts, including\u00a0tax evasion, with those proceedings expected to start in September.<\/p>\n<p><em>World News Tonight<\/em> anchor David\u00a0Muir, too, asked Joe Biden whether he would respect the verdicts in Hunter Biden\u2019s trials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes,\u201d Joe Biden said.<\/p>\n<p>But Joe Biden took the opportunity to criticize former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a>, his 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/republican-primary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Republican opponent<\/a>, for not doing the same in his hush money trial. Last week, a New York jury found Trump guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records to allegedly cover up an extramarital affair with porn star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/stormy-daniels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Stormy Daniels<\/a> before the 2016 election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s trying to undermine it,\u201d Joe Biden said. \u201cHe got a fair trial. The jury spoke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abroad, Joe Biden underscored that his decision last week to permit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/ukraine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Ukraine<\/a> to use U.S.-made weapons in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/russia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Russia<\/a> was not an authorization for \u201cstrikes on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/moscow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Moscow<\/a>, on the Kremlin.\u201d There had been calls for Joe Biden to make the decision as Russia makes inroads in its war against its neighbor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re authorized to be used in proximity to the border when they\u2019re being used on the other side of the border to attack specific targets in Ukraine,\u201d Joe Biden said. \u201cWe\u2019re not authorizing strikes 200 miles into Russia.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve known him for over 40 years,\u201d he added of Russian President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/vladimir-putin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Vladimir Putin<\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s concerned me for 40 years. He\u2019s not a decent man. \u2026 He\u2019s a dictator, and he\u2019s struggling to make sure he holds his country together while still keeping this assault going.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the Gaza war, Joe Biden reiterated that Israeli Prime Minister<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/benjamin-netanyahu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title> Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a>, with whom he has had a fractious relationship, is \u201clistening\u201d to him as Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas restart ceasefire negotiations.
