Kantor&#8217;s recent conspiracy theories surrounding a patriotic flag have stirred\u200c controversy. Other issues related to Democrats\u2019 unprecedented lawfare against Republican presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump and his supporters will also be handed down by the court in the next few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kamala-harris-condemns-d-c-demonstrators-despite-past-encouragement-of-violent-blm-mobs\/\" title=\"Kamala Harris condemns D.C. demonstrators despite past encouragement of violent BLM mobs\">left-wing activists<\/a> are furious with the court, the last functioning institution in America and the only one they do not control. Unable to critique the court for any legitimate reason, Kantor has taken to writing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/05\/16\/us\/justice-alito-upside-down-flag.html\">numerous<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/05\/17\/us\/justice-alito-flag-reactions.html\">obsessive<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/05\/22\/us\/justice-alito-flag-appeal-to-heaven.html\">hit<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/05\/28\/us\/justice-alito-neighbors-stop-steal-flag.html\">pieces<\/a> not just about the <em>wife<\/em> of a Supreme Court justice, but about her flag choices.<\/p>\n<p>Really.<\/p>\n<p>Kantor is currently spreading an absolutely delusional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/miles-anonymous-taylor-accidentally-exposes-the-fraudulence-of-the-mainstream-media\/\" title=\"Miles 'Anonymous' Taylor Accidentally Exposes the Fraudulence of the Mainstream Media\">conspiracy theory<\/a> that the <a href=\"https:\/\/janehamptoncook.substack.com\/p\/what-the-appeal-to-heaven-flag-really\">Appeal To Heaven<\/a> flag that was commissioned for Gen. George Washington is actually a secret symbol of insurrectionists. Kantor\u2019s claim is that Samuel Alito must recuse from cases because his wife, Martha-Ann, flew a popular and patriotic flag that has been flown for hundreds of years by Americans including possibly by some on Jan. 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rudy-giulianis-lawyer-son-react-to-federal-raid-calls-out-corrupt-double-standard-in-doj\/\" title=\"Rudy Giuliani\u2019s lawyer, son react to federal raid, calls out corrupt double standard in DOJ\">absolutely absurd<\/a> and laughably illogical claim. The flag is in such wide use that left-wing city <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/san-francisco-quietly-removes-appeal-heaven-flag-from-outside-city-hall-after-alito-flap?intcmp=tw_fnc\">San Francisco famously flew it for 60 years<\/a> in Civic Center Plaza until last week. When The New York Times began pushing its propaganda against the flag, San Francisco quickly removed it to help the left\u2019s efforts against the legitimacy of the Supreme Court. What\u2019s more, The New York Times and other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/warning-for-america-the-four-steps-of-marxist-takeover-were-activated-in-2020\/\" title=\"Warning for America: The Four Steps of Marxist Takeover Were Activated in 2020\">left-wing media outlets<\/a> never once claimed the flag was one of the flags seen inside the Capitol on Jan. 6, until Kantor published her conspiracy theory last month. In fact, the Times published a detailed \u201cVisual Investigation\u201d of the events of Jan. 6 headlined, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/01\/13\/video\/extremist-signs-symbols-capitol-riot.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Decoding the Far-Right Symbols at the Capitol Riot<\/a>\u201d \u2014 and neither of the supposedly controversial flags flown by Martha-Ann Alito <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pluri.blog\/p\/a-new-york-times-false-flag-operation\">were included in the article<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1caf4994b49fb2f75816933963148a4c fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1caf4994b49fb2f75816933963148a4c\"><\/div>\n<p>Kantor has stayed resolutely on the flag beat, even though there\u2019s no substance and her subsequent reporting on the matter only undermines the claims that the Alitos were in the wrong. Martha-Ann Alito maintains it was a conflict with her neighbors that prompted her to fly an American flag upside down, and Kantor\u2019s follow-up reporting makes it clear that the neighbors are thoroughly obnoxious people who upset Mrs. Alito by displaying political signs with profanity in their yard in front of children.<\/p>\n<p>Even the mother of the woman who put up the sign Mrs. Alito found offensive \u201csaid she hesitated over the sign at her home, because she feared it looked \u2018tacky.\u2019\u201d Most reasonable Americans of all political stripes would find such behavior inappropriate, to say nothing of the fact that they called Mrs. Alito the c-word and otherwise treated her disrespectfully when she tried to talk to them about the sign.<\/p>\n<p>The absurdity of the claims against the court has been no barrier to the media and other Democrats. A coalition of Arabella-funded left-wing groups petitioned Democrat allies on the Senate Judiciary Committee to \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2024\/may\/30\/liberal-groups-pressure-sen-richard-durbin-launch-\/\">launch an investigation<\/a>\u201d into Martha-Ann Alito\u2019s lawn decorations.<\/p>\n<p>Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who stood on the steps of the Supreme Court in 2020 and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/03\/04\/chuck-schumer-justices-kavanaugh-gorusch-you-will-pay-price\/\">threatened violence<\/a> against Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh if they didn\u2019t change their rulings to match his political preferences, <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/senate\/4703385-schumer-supreme-court-john-roberts\/mlite\/\">histrionically condemned the court<\/a> for not forcing recusals over the patriotic flags of the wife of a Supreme Court justice. While corporate media have tried to bury the results of calls for violence, Kavanaugh and his wife and children would later be the target of an armed would-be assassin who was arrested outside their home.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-39a0eb8550a5dff8ce05b772b0b1b5ec fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-39a0eb8550a5dff8ce05b772b0b1b5ec\"><\/div>\n<p>Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., used the information fed to Kantor to claim that the wife of a Supreme Court justice flying a patriotic flag meant the court had <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SenWhitehouse\/status\/1797732896536436984\">ethics problems<\/a>. Whitehouse, incidentally, is known for being a member of a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/06\/21\/sheldon-whitehouse-under-fire-for-membership-at-all-white-club\/\">whites-only beach club<\/a> and is facing an ethics complaint for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/ethics-complaint-whitehouse\/\">steering legislation to advantage his wife<\/a>. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., also <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SenatorDurbin\/status\/1797712037008523346\">pushed Kantor\u2019s conspiracy theory<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Post\u2019s Jen Rubin said the quiet part out loud and promised that if Democrats win in 2024, they will remove the filibuster, pack the Supreme Court, and <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JCNSeverino\/status\/1797688421693202661\">impeach Alito<\/a> because his wife flew George Washington\u2019s flag.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, this is not the first time Kantor has been used by Democrat activists to push false stories about the Alito family.<\/p>\n<p>Kantor also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/11\/20\/us\/supreme-court-breach-alito.html\">pushed<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/11\/19\/us\/supreme-court-leak-abortion-roe-wade.html\">fake news<\/a> about the Alitos in 2022. She and fellow New York Times activist Jo Becker pushed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/targeting-justice-samuel-alito-rob-schenck-supreme-court-hobby-lobby-sheldon-whitehouse-11669154588?mod=opinion_lead_pos2\">completely invented<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/news\/alito-accused-leaking-hobby-lobby-case\">unsubstantiated claim<\/a> that the Alitos had violated court procedure by telling another couple about the outcome of <em>Hobby Lobby<\/em>, a landmark Supreme Court decision authored by Alito. The Alitos vehemently and unequivocally denied the story, as did the supposed recipient of the leak. Yet Kantor treated the person making the allegation, a politically motivated individual who was known for <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JudiciaryGOP\/status\/1600921738425925632\">lying about the court<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/12\/21\/all-i-want-for-christmas-is-justice-for-the-dobbs-leaker-but-john-roberts-is-gifting-leftists-with-conspiracy-theory-fodder-instead\/\">various ways<\/a>, as if he were a legitimate source.<\/p>\n<p>Kantor\u2019s story was an obvious attempt to deflect from the malicious leak of the <em>Dobbs<\/em> decision by a court insider who was upset by the ruling. But that didn\u2019t keep the corporate media and other Democrats from amplifying the false claim to damage the court.<\/p>\n<p>The left is engaged in an obvious political effort to intimidate Justice Alito and influence the Supreme Court\u2019s work. Naturally, the media are doing everything they can to aid in that effort by pretending Kantor\u2019s reporting is something more substantive than it is: a manufactured controversy divorced from the facts of what happened and common sense.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, there seems to be some recognition that this is the case. A recent article in Politico is headlined, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/06\/01\/alito-flag-controversy-short-shelf-life-washington-00161104#:~:text=The%20flag%20flap%20has%2C%20apparently,extreme%20polarization%20in%20American%20politics.\">Alito flag flap could have short shelf life in Washington<\/a>.\u201d However, that article by Josh Gerstein \u2014 one of the reporters who published the leak of Alito\u2019s <em>Dobbs<\/em> decision \u2014 still manages to pretend Kantor\u2019s story is a cause for legitimate concern. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe New York Times became the latest in a string of incidents that have further tarnished the image of the Supreme Court at a time of extreme polarization in American politics,\u201d writes Gerstein.<\/p>\n<p>However, if you approach this story honestly, the only thing tarnished here is The New York Times and Jodi Kantor\u2019s already suspect reputation for pushing delusional conspiracy theories and unsubstantiated claims.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e30391f1dd561d36ce0522c8a5896bd8 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e30391f1dd561d36ce0522c8a5896bd8\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As the Supreme Court closes its latest term, justices prepare to announce final rulings.
