Coming to terms with the truth can be liberating. By acknowledging reality, the right can finally move forward and begin to fight back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShow me the man, and I<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-legal-team-prepares-for-impending-senate-impeachment-trial\/\" title=\"Trump legal team prepares for impending Senate impeachment trial\">\u2019ll show<\/a> you the crime,\u201d bragged Lavrentiy Beria, the most ruthless and longest-serving secret police chief under Joseph Stalin.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-6c8f35f7b850e172f6673f619e1927f9 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-6c8f35f7b850e172f6673f619e1927f9\"><\/div>\n<p>In a similar, Soviet-inspired fashion, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg <a href=\"https:\/\/nymag.com\/intelligencer\/article\/trump-was-convicted-but-prosecutors-contorted-the-law.html\">contorted<\/a> the law to get his man.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump conviction comes after years of suffering through never-ending protests (beginning on Trump\u2019s inauguration day in 2016), the Mueller investigation and Russia-collusion hoax, George Floyd riots, two impeachments, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/exclusive-fbi-finds-scant-evidence-us-capitol-attack-was-coordinated-sources-2021-08-20\/\">faux<\/a> \u201cinsurrection,\u201d an administrative deep state that attempted to stymie Trump\u2019s agenda at every turn, and the \u201celection <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/5936036\/secret-2020-election-campaign\/\">fortification<\/a>\u201d of 2020 \u2014 leftist political lawfare has reached its apex.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">No Longer a Constitutional Republic<\/h2>\n<p>One such reality the right must recognize is that it is no longer fighting to preserve the \u201cconstitutional republic\u201d of 1789.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the United States has undergone fundamental transformations numerous times throughout its history, long before Barack Obama famously told a crowd in Columbia, Missouri, \u201cWe are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-13e2c14053523726e07f6e8e18641b26 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-13e2c14053523726e07f6e8e18641b26\"><\/div>\n<p>Astute political commentators such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unqualified-reservations.org\/2007\/05\/iron-polygon-power-in-united-states\/\">Curtis Yarvin<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BOnsCgZoq4o\">Auron MacIntyre<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SnBw8W1NaWs\">Wade Stotts<\/a> have each explained that America is not one continuous, unbroken political entity since its founding in 1776, but rather it has experienced significant refoundings throughout its almost 250-year history.<\/p>\n<p>While we can (and should) still honor and learn from our past, the truth is that the American republic is over and has been over for quite some time. Despite Benjamin Franklin\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/articles\/000\/constitutionalconvention-september17.htm\">warning<\/a>, we could not keep it.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rome\u2019s Example<\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019s vital to understand that it was not the sacred parchment that failed to preserve the American republic, but rather the people. To understand why, we can look back to Ancient Rome, which, for all its political, cultural, and military achievements, lacked a written constitution.<\/p>\n<p>The cohesive force that united all Romans and led to the Roman Republic\u2019s success lay in the unspoken norms of social and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-texas-democrat-is-running-as-a-champion-of-political-christians-she-pans-them-in-her-book\/\" title=\"A Texas Democrat Is Running as a Champion of Political Christians. She Pans Them in Her Book.\">political behavior<\/a>. For the most part, Romans relied on unwritten rules, traditions, and mutual expectations, collectively referred to as \u201cMos Maiorum,\u201d meaning \u201cthe way of the elders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, as the republic entered its decline, it was not Roman law that weakened but the erosion of respect for these mutually accepted bonds. Once these bonds disintegrate, as is the case with present-day America, no amount of political poetry written on parchment will resurrect them.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wielding Power<\/h2>\n<p>Contrary to the proclamations of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/04\/26\/conservatisms-three-legged-stool-has-no-legs-left\/\">three-legged stool<\/a>\u201d conservatives, obtaining and wielding <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/14\/if-conservatives-refuse-to-go-on-the-offensive-they-are-guaranteed-to-lose\/\">power<\/a> in pursuit of your political interests now matters most. Frankly, it always has. Thinking otherwise has brought conservatism to the brink of annihilation and what remains of our country to the edge of extinction.<\/p>\n<p>One recent example of this self-defeating mindset comes from Jonah Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Dispatch. In response to a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/willchamberlain\/status\/1796548542284120538\">post<\/a> on X that called for conservatives to dispense with the arguments that the GOP \u201cshouldn\u2019t do something because it might set a bad precedent,\u201d Goldberg <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JonahDispatch\/status\/1796704213180776597\">replied<\/a>, \u201cWeird version of \u2018conservatism\u2019 that is wholly, completely, and preemptively, dismissive of the dangers of bad precedents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, President Joe Biden unashamedly <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JoeBiden\/status\/1796665674535711051\">posted<\/a> that \u201cno one is above the law\u201d (in reference to Trump\u2019s conviction) after openly <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JoeBiden\/status\/1795969437595500905\">bragging<\/a> about how he didn\u2019t let the Supreme Court stop him from relieving student debt for more than 5 million Americans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImagine if the roles were reversed?!\u201d cries the \u201cprincipled\u201d conservative after he learns that the FBI was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/trump-fbi-classified-documents-deadly-force-1903247\">prepared<\/a> to use deadly force during an armed raid on Donald Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago estate. \u201cIt\u2019s important not to set a bad precedent!\u201d say the gatekeepers within Conservative Inc., even when Biden\u2019s primary political opponent is on the verge of being imprisoned after being subjected to a Soviet-style show trial.<\/p>\n<p>The naivete from this cohort of conservatives is laughable. This is a loser mentality, which is why the right continues to lose.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, conservatives such as Sens. J.D. Vance and Mike Lee provide a way forward, finally signaling they are ready to go on offense. Before Trump\u2019s conviction, Vance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vance.senate.gov\/press-releases\/senator-vance-calls-for-criminal-investigation-into-judge-merchan\/\">called<\/a> on the Department of Justice to open a criminal investigation into presiding Judge Juan Merchan for illegally depriving Trump of his First Amendment rights. After Trump\u2019s guilty verdict, Lee issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/republicans-vow-upend-dem-led-senate-after-trump-guilty-verdict\">statement<\/a>, signed by seven other Republicans:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Strongly worded statements are not enough. Those who turned our judicial system into a political cudgel must be held accountable. We are no longer cooperating with any Democrat legislative priorities or nominations, and we invite all concerned Senators to join our stand.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As John Daniel Davidson, a senior editor at The Federalist, rightly <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/31\/after-trumps-conviction-republicans-should-do-to-democrats-what-they-did-to-him\/\">stated<\/a> about today\u2019s GOP, \u201cEither you\u2019re willing to jail Democrats on the same terms they\u2019re using to jail Trump, or you\u2019re merely controlled opposition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Democrats play to win, while far too many Republicans aren\u2019t even playing the game.<\/p>\n<p>While we can\u2019t return to the past, there is still time for the right to move forward aggressively in its battle to shape America\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-777acf93ee904f18442b42d63bda31e2 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-777acf93ee904f18442b42d63bda31e2\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Thomas Wolfe&#8217;s 1940 novel &#8220;You Can&#8217;t Go Home Again,&#8221; the author highlights the futility of reliving the past as people and places evolve.
