The hearing was Fauci\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/hearing-reminder-dr-anthony-fauci-to-testify-tomorrow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">first public testimony<\/a> since announcing his retirement, and several committee members called for Fauci to be prosecuted over the disastrous and unfounded restrictions he championed during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Rep. Brad Wenstrup, further detailed the failures of Fauci\u2019s pandemic-era domestic policy.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the subcommittee used both occasions to question Fauci regarding one of the most crucial aspects of Fauci\u2019s Covid-19 manifesto \u2014 his opinion and handling of the lab leak theory. When asked about the lab leak theory in the January hearing, Fauci equivocated, <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/covid-select-subcommittee-releases-dr-faucis-transcript-highlights-key-takeaways-in-new-memo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">saying<\/a>, \u201cWell, it\u2019s a possibility. Fauci used this authority to compel lawmakers and the public to trust his judgment on treatments, prevention, and the virus\u2019 origin. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC10198735\/#:~:text=After%209%20months%20of%20follow,vaccine%2Dinduced%20immunity%20and%20unexposed.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study<\/a> from the National Institute of Health revealed, \u201cAfter 9 months of follow-up, the cumulative risk of new SARS-CoV-2 infection was 21.8%, 22.0%, and 25.9%, respectively, among exposed to natural immunity, vaccine-induced immunity and unexposed.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Even though these results were published over a year ago, Fauci doubled down in both the January and June hearings that unvaccinated individuals are the problem.
