Republicans caution\u2063 that ignoring the referrals would uphold a two-tier justice system.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>The Republicans investigating the impeachability of President Joe Biden for his role in his family\u2019s international influence-peddling scheme <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/embeds\/739615128\/content?start_page=1&#038;view_mode=scroll&#038;access_key=key-SNgbPGhFtry5iIaTXIKD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recommended<\/a> on Wednesday that the Department of Justice charge the Democrat\u2019s youngest son and brother with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sidney-powell-is-an-american-legal-giant\/\" title=\"Sidney Powell Is an American Legal Giant\">making false statements<\/a> to Congress in what appears to be \u201ca calculated effort to shield\u201d the president from formal scrutiny.<\/p>\n<p>There is <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/28\/washington-posts-lead-liar-waves-away-mountain-of-evidence-to-claim-biden-corruption-proof-is-scant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a boatload of evidence<\/a>, including <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/11\/01\/follow-40000-from-communist-china-directly-to-joe-bidens-bank-account\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bank receipts<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/25\/joe-biden-allegedly-interacted-with-sons-clients-more-than-200-times\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">White House visitor logs<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/25\/here-are-all-the-people-who-have-corroborated-biden-family-corruption\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">testimonies from Biden business partners<\/a>, confirming Joe and other members of the Biden family profited millions off of selling their patriarch\u2019s name and position to foreign companies and oligarchs.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1745429587\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-60b92fad9e7fa8e56ab02c5a7464b10d fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-60b92fad9e7fa8e56ab02c5a7464b10d\"><\/div>\n<p>The criminal referrals, sent by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, recommended Attorney General Merrick Garland and Special Counsel David Weiss charge both Hunter and James Biden for lying about that evidence during depositions held in the lower chamber earlier this year. The committees also suggested perjury charges for Hunter and warned the DOJ\u2019s refusal to act on these recommendations reeks of partisanship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLying to Congress to impede an ongoing congressional investigation is a serious crime. If the Department of Justice fails to act on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/grassley-demands-doj-fbi-update-status-of-investigation-into-kavanaughs-fraudulant-accusers\/\" title=\"Grassley Demands DOJ, FBI Update Status Of Investigation Into Kavanaugh\u2019s \u2018Fraudulant\u2019 Accusers\">criminal referral<\/a> and hold Hunter Biden accountable, they will once again be telling the American people there are two tiers of justice in this country. One for the wealthy and politically connected, and one for everyone else,\u201d Smith said in a statement.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hunter\u2019s Lies <\/h2>\n<p>During his <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Hunter-Biden-Transcript_Redacted.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">February 28, 2024, sitdown<\/a>, Hunter \u201cfalsely distanced himself\u201d under oath from the Rosemont Seneca Bohai company and bank accounts into which foreign entities transferred millions of dollars that benefited the Bidens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have no authority over those accounts, and I have no view inside of it,\u201d Hunter claimed, blaming responsibility on his business partner Devon Archer.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ec88fd137c9056914469116d5832743c fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ec88fd137c9056914469116d5832743c\"><\/div>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p>Documents and financial receipts, however, confirm Archer <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/01\/8-unbelievable-claims-from-hunter-bidens-congressional-deposition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">routinely transferred large sums<\/a> of foreign-paid cash from Rosemont Seneca to Hunter. One $142,300 deposit from a Kazakhstani oligarch <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/timeline\/kazakhstan-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">covered Hunter\u2019s new ride<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>  Hunter\u2019s falsehoods didn\u2019t stop there. Joe\u2019s son also gave what investigators called an \u201centirely fictitious account\u201d about his heated exchange with a Chinese business partner. <\/p>\n<p>In his deposition, Hunter brushed off the threatening texts between him and communist Chinese energy company CEFC Director Henry Zhao as something that happened when \u201cI was drunk and probably high.\u201d Hunter went so far as to claim he messaged a \u201cdifferent\u201d Zhao.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI, like an idiot, directed it towards Henry Zhao who had no involvement, who had no understanding or even remotely knew what the hell I was even Godd-mn talking about. Excuse my language,\u201d Hunter said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a4fac822482177c82c884a0960945b21 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a4fac822482177c82c884a0960945b21\"><\/div>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p>Hunter\u2019s claims do not stand up against the evidence that found one <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/11\/01\/follow-40000-from-communist-china-directly-to-joe-bidens-bank-account\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bank account<\/a> linked to Hunter and Joe received <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kenvogel\/status\/1672308270571069456?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">millions<\/a> of dollars shortly after the younger Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/22\/hunter-biden-threatened-my-father-could-hold-a-grudge-in-extortive-message-to-chinese-associate-revealed-by-whistleblower\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">leveraged his father\u2019s position in the U.S. government <\/a>to ensure \u201cpromises and assurances\u201d were kept.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled,\u201d the WhatsApp message reads. \u201cI am very concerned that the Chairman has either changed his mind and broken our deal without telling me or that he is unaware of the promises and assurances that have been made that have not been kept.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Republicans warned that Hunter\u2019s excuse appears to be an \u201cattempt to hide the fact that invoking Joe Biden succeeded in coercing his Chinese partners to send him money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt also calls into doubt Hunter Biden\u2019s other testimony about that event, such as his contention that his father was not, in fact, sitting next to him when he transmitted the message,\u201d the letter adds. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">James\u2019 Falsehood<\/h2>\n<p>In his <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/James-Biden-Transcript.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">February 21, 2024, deposition<\/a>, James testified that his brother did not meet with anyone affiliated with CEFC, nor did his brother interact with Biden business associate Tony Bobulinski during a May 2017 meeting about a CEFC deal.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p>Investigators noted that James\u2019 claims were \u201ccontradicted not only by Mr. Bobulinski\u201d and text messages he produced but also Hunter. They noted that James\u2019 attempt to answer questions about this brother\u2019s involvement in the family racket came off as \u201ca clumsy attempt to protect Joe Biden from the reality that Joe Biden has indeed met with his family\u2019s business associates.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Will The DOJ Act? <\/h2>\n<p>The committee chairman concluded their letter by noting that the DOJ should \u201cconsider Hunter Biden\u2019s prior alleged criminal activity\u201d when deciding whether to follow through on the recommended charges because the Biden son was \u201csubject to two federal court orders stating that he could not commit any crimes while on federal supervised release\u201d at the time of his deposition. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unlikely that the DOJ, which is plagued with accusations of partisanship after it slow-walked criminal investigations into Hunter\u2019s wrongdoings and tried to secure a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/09\/14\/hunter-biden-slapped-with-three-felony-gun-charges-after-lying-on-background-check-in-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sweetheart plea deal<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/20\/hunter-bidens-wrist-slap-on-gun-tax-crimes-is-a-complete-smokescreen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">slap on the wrist<\/a> for him last year to protect the president, will proceed with charges.
