Milwaukee County is Wisconsin\u2019s most populous county and a Democratic-stronghold in the state.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"UPFRONT: MKE Co. Shortly after Chisholm announced his retirement, Lovern put his hat in the ring, receiving endorsements from Democratic Mayor of Milwaukee Cavalier Johnson and Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI), who represents the Milwaukee area. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cKent\u2019s unwavering commitment to public safety and his collaborative efforts with community organizations and law enforcement agencies have been instrumental in making Milwaukee a safer, more just community for all,\u201d Johnson <a href=\"https:\/\/urbanmilwaukee.com\/pressrelease\/mayor-cavalier-johnson-endorses-kent-lovern-for-milwaukee-county-district-attorney\/#google_vignette\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In all but four Wisconsin counties, only one candidate filed to run for district attorney. Despite Republicans\u2019 attacks on district attorneys in swing states such as Wisconsin and Georgia, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-republicans-like-their-governors-democrats-dont\/\" title=\"Poll: Republicans Like Their Governors. Democrats Don\u2019t.\">solid-blue states<\/a> such as California, most Wisconsin counties will not have a competitive race.<\/p>\n<p>In Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/fani-willis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Fani Willis<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/3012204\/election-results-top-takeaways-primaries-five-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>  survived a challenge<\/a> in the Democratic primary. Some have said he is too lenient on criminal offenders but not empathetic enough to victims of crimes.<\/p>\n<p>San Francisco County is also entangled in a fierce debate over liberal prosecutors following the 2022 recall of San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin and his liberal policies.
