But in my world nerds are gay,\u201d Stenberg said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/secretary-of-state-antony-blinken-condemns-charges-against-pro-democracy-activists-in-hong-kong\/\" title=\"Secretary Of State Antony Blinken Condemns Charges Against Pro-Democracy Activists in Hong Kong\">interviewer asked<\/a> if this was meant to be a \u201cfun element,\u201d and Headland replied, \u201cNo, I don\u2019t think so, and yet people have told me it\u2019s the gayest Star Wars, and I am frankly \u2026 into it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI think Star Wars is so gay already. I mean, have you seen the \u2018fits? We\u2019d be like, \u2018Look how gay this is,\u2019 and send each other a reference photo,\u201d Stenberg said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Headland next shared her thoughts on the sexuality of fictional Star Wars robots. \u201cAnd are you telling me with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-u-n-ambassador-linda-thomas-greenfield-faces-backlash-for-attacking-u-s-ccp-propaganda\/\" title=\"Biden U.N. That\u2019s what I think.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI think it\u2019s canon that R2-D2 is a lesbian,\u201d Headland replied. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This isn\u2019t the first time the showrunner has brought up LGBTQ themes in Disney entertainment. Earlier this year, a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EndWokeness\/status\/1770167671654396333?s=20\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">video<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  from the 2023 Star Wars Celebration captured Headland saying how \u201cThe Acolyte\u201d would be \u201ccoded queer\u201d like the animated children\u2019s film, \u201cFrozen.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhen I saw Frozen as a grown a** woman, I cried through the entire movie,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cThere was just something about the relationship between the sisters, the like devillainization of the classic kind of fairy tale \u2018bad guy,\u2019 you know, the concept of true love being between two sisters and not a heterosexual relationship. And so I really was inspired by it and was like, \u2018God, I would love to make a story like this.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In 2021, Headland <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.advocate.com\/film\/2021\/7\/01\/lesbian-leslye-headland-brings-queer-lens-star-wars-franchise\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">spoke to<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  The Advocate about having representation on \u201cThe Acolyte\u201d and fully intending \u201cto allow her own personal experiences as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/who-is-disneys-new-star-wars-director-the-queen-of-raunch-comedy\/\" title=\"Who is the new director of Disney's 'Star Wars', known as the 'Queen of Raunch Comedy'?\">queer woman shine<\/a> through in the finished product.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIn the same way that the original \u2018Star Wars\u2019 film, \u2018A New Hope,\u2019 is about a young man living in Modesto, California, who doesn\u2019t want to take over his dad\u2019s hardware store,\u201d Headland said. \u201cThere\u2019s just no way that me being a queer woman is not going to be reflected in my work. I could try not to do it, but why would I?
