Prosecutors say Hunter Biden was addicted to crack cocaine at the time and knew exactly what he was doing. Melissa, first daughter Ashley Biden, and Jill Biden were joined in court by Kevin Morris, an attorney who has attracted national attention for his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2570549\/how-far-one-lawyer-is-willing-to-go-to-help-hunter-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>near-obsessive<\/a> level of support for Hunter Biden. <\/p>\n<p>Morris\u2019s friendship with the president\u2019s son goes back years. During their relationship, the attorney has run the gauntlet on defending Hunter Biden, including lending him money to pay off his tax bill and shielding him from a congressional investigation. <\/p>\n<p>Morris\u2019s role as Hunter Biden\u2019s principal financier has strained the Hollywood attorney\u2019s relationship with his family. According to the <em>New York Post<\/em>, Morris\u2019s daughter recently <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/06\/04\/us-news\/hunter-biden-is-dressed-down-by-sugar-brothers-daughter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>told<\/a> Hunter Biden \u201cto stop taking advantage of my father,\u201d while Morris\u2019s \u201centire family has abandoned him because they were livid when they found out he was bankrolling everything [for Hunter Biden].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to other recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/05\/15\/hunter-biden-legal-defense-kevin-morris-money-00158237\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>reports<\/a>, Morris says he is out of cash to help fund Hunter Biden\u2019s defense.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes after one of Morris\u2019s attorneys sent a letter to the House Oversight Committee in January, suggesting Morris had spent over $6.5 million aiding the president\u2019s son. <\/p>\n<p>Morris\u2019s defense has often used questionable means to target Hunter Biden\u2019s investigators. After \u200b\u200bMarco Polo, an organization headed by former Trump aide Garrett Ziegler, published information from Hunter Biden\u2019s abandoned laptop last June, Morris spent months threatening one of the organization\u2019s operatives, suggesting the FBI and Justice Department were surveilling the organization. <\/p>\n<p>Ziegler attended the trial on Tuesday, where he was allegedly told by Hunter Biden\u2019s wife, Melissa, that he did not belong in the court. The Marco Polo owner was allowed to stay. <\/p>\n<p>Another notable figure in court on Tuesday was Abbe Lowell, one of Hunter Biden\u2019s main attorneys. At one time, he represented former President Donald Trump\u2019s daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner. Lowell served as an ethics adviser to Ivanka Trump while she served in her father\u2019s administration.
