Cruz&#8217;s remarks were made on his &#8220;Verdict&#8221; podcast with co-host Ben Ferguson, where he discussed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-gop-smoking-out-political-retribution-by-prosecutors-in-trump-cases-speaker-johnson-says\/\" title=\"Speaker Johnson accuses House GOP of uncovering \"political retribution\" in Trump cases\">recent guilty verdict<\/a> in a trial involving former \u200bPresident Donald \u200cTrump. He highlighted the Democrats&#8217; disregard for the rule of\u2062 law and their extreme animosity towards\u2064 Trump as driving factors behind their actions.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/ted-cruz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ted Cruz<\/a> (R-TX) slammed Democrats during an interview this week for being willing to destroy the U.S. justice system just so they can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/did-president-trump-spring-a-trap-on-treasonous-democrats-on-election-night\/\" title=\"Did President Trump Spring a Trap on Treasonous Democrats on Election Night?\">win elections<\/a> and stay in power.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz made the remarks during his \u201cVerdict\u201d podcast with co-host Ben Ferguson while discussing last week\u2019s guilty verdict that a Manhattan jury doled out in District Attorney Alvin Bragg\u2019s criminal trial against former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you contrast America to banana republics, the difference is you have the rule of law,\u201d he said. \u201cThe difference is you don\u2019t do this. And these democrats, they hate Trump so much they don\u2019t care. They\u2019re willing to destroy it all, right. Let\u2019s get to Alvin Bragg. Alvin Bragg, mind you, he is suddenly tough on crime. Yeah, this is a guy who, if you murder people, if you rape people, you walk down the street and you punch a little old lady in the face, Alvin Bragg will let you go.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cruz said that Bragg had a \u201cpolitical objective\u201d that he wanted to achieve in court against Trump. \u201cHe\u2019s trying to re-elect Joe Biden,\u201d he said. \u201cHe\u2019s trying to stay in power.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cruz also took issue with Democrat Judge Juan Merchan and the various instructions that he gave the jury.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe U.S. Supreme Court has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/3-corporate-media-shticks-about-ukraine-that-you-should-absolutely-ignore\/\" title=\"3 Corporate Media Shticks About Ukraine That You Should Absolutely Ignore\">long made clear<\/a> in order to convict someone of a crime, you must prove beyond a reasonable doubt every element of the crime and the jury must find unanimously that you are guilty, you have committed every element of the crime,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/donald-trump-ends-negotiations-with-nancy-pelosi-on-coronavirus-relief\/\" title=\"Donald Trump Ends Negotiations with Nancy Pelosi on Coronavirus Relief\">judge<\/a> just said there is, \u2018No, no number one, this unlawful means anything unlawful, like whatever, like what we\u2019re not going to define it, but I\u2019m gonna give you three, jurors choice, your pick.\u2019 It\u2019s like mix and match, choose your own adventure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cruz said that he believes the conviction will get overturned on appeal, which he believes Democrats already know, but alleged that their plan was to tarnish Trump with a conviction to damage him politically.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe purpose is what Alex Soros said, the purpose is what Joe Biden said. The purpose is all the Democrats, and all the media get to call him a felon over and over and over again, between now and Election Day, this is a five-month battle,\u201d Cruz said. \u201cIt\u2019s not a five-year battle, the purpose is not to put Donald Trump in jail. They know that\u2019s not going to happen; they are trying to win. This is about keeping Joe Biden, the Democrats in power because it\u2019s all they care about.
