The 11th Circuit Judicial Council refused to entertain a flood\u200d of\u200c complaints alleging bias, stating they were part of an orchestrated \u2063campaign with no\u2064 factual basis.\u200d The\u200c complaints coincided with delays in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ted-cruz-knocks-bidens-comments-on-chauvin-trial\/\" title=\"Ted Cruz Knocks Biden\u2019s Comments On Chauvin Trial\">trial due<\/a> to evidence tampering by the Department of Justice.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>A federal appeals court rejected an \u201corchestrated campaign\u201d of complaints to remove the judge overseeing the Biden Justice Department\u2019s lawfare case against former President Donald Trump over classified documents raided from his Mar-a-Lago home.<\/p>\n<p>The 11th Circuit Judicial Council, which oversees the lower courts in Florida, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ca11.uscourts.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/courtdocs\/clk\/GeneralOrder2024-J.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> on May 22 it would not accept a pile of complaints \u2014 or any similar complaints in the future \u2014 about Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, who is overseeing the classified documents lawfare case. The council said since May 16, 2024, it had received more than 1,000 judicial complaints \u201cthat raise allegations that are substantially similar to the allegations raised in previous complaints.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-206633146\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e7ec25707d18e7c214ee5f6940de6b58 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e7ec25707d18e7c214ee5f6940de6b58\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThese complaints appear to be part of an orchestrated campaign,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-parish-council-says-it-supports-biden-in-communion-debate-it-had-thoughts-on-same-sex-couples-too\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s Parish Council Says It Supports Biden In Communion Debate \u2013 It Had Thoughts On Same-Sex Couples, Too\">council continued<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The council explained that many of the complaints seek the removal of Cannon from the case and want a different judge to be reassigned, with the complaints citing questions about \u201cthe correctness of [Cannon\u2019s] rulings or her delays in issuing rulings in this case.\u201d The council said those complaints were \u201cunsupported by any evidence\u201d that Cannon would have an \u201cimproper motive in delaying the case.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause the orchestrated complaints received on and after May 16, 2024, raise allegations that have been or will be considered in previously filed complaints against Judge Cannon, accepting these complaints for filing and processing would not provide any benefit to the adjudication of the merits of the allegations against Judge Cannon,\u201d the opinion reads. <\/p>\n<p>The complaint blitz coincidentally began just over a week after Cannon indefinitely postponed the start of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-are-already-planning-their-own-insurrection-if-trump-wins\/\" title=\"Democrats are plotting a potential uprising if Trump is reelected\">lawfare trial<\/a>. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-3227e61e20881199e7082a92d9ab8638 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-3227e61e20881199e7082a92d9ab8638\"><\/div>\n<p>Cannon\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/08\/judge-halts-trumps-classified-docs-trial-after-doj-admits-to-evidence-tampering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">postponement<\/a> decision came after the Department of Justice admitted it tampered with evidence. As independent journalist Julie Kelly pointed out, DOJ prosecutors admitted some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/israeli-military-officials-unite-in-opposition-to-biden-admins-iran-deal\/\" title=\"Israeli Military Officials Unite in Opposition to Biden Admin\u2019s Iran Deal\">documents seized<\/a> during the FBI\u2019s unprecedented raid on Mar-a-Lago were not kept in the same order in which they were found. Other documents were also either possibly misplaced or mislabeled, my colleague Tristan Justice <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/06\/filings-jack-smith-tampered-with-evidence-in-get-trump-classified-documents-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Special counsel Jack Smith admitted to such tampering in a court filing, and also admitted in a footnote that \u201cThe Government acknowledges that this is inconsistent with what Government counsel previously understood and represented to the Court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Leftists have salivated at the possibility of removing Cannon from the case \u2014 likely in hopes of replacing her with a partisan judge like Juan Merchan, who oversaw Trump\u2019s recent show trial in New York. Merchan donated to Biden\u2019s 2020 campaign, blocked witness testimony that would have helped Trump, and has familial ties to Democratic fundraising operations.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, when Smith filed a motion requesting that Cannon gag Trump, leftists quickly celebrated it as a move that could lead to Cannon\u2019s recusal, as Federalist Senior Legal Correspondent Margot Cleveland <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/28\/judge-aileen-cannon-is-the-latest-object-of-democrats-recusal-obsession\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">noted<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-d780e9bbdb2a4ecd8172c4932223bd54 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-d780e9bbdb2a4ecd8172c4932223bd54\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cSmart move by Smith as Judge Cannon won\u2019t be likely to grant the gag order, will show her patent bias, and Smith can then appeal to the 11th Circuit,\u201d Andrew Weissman <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AWeissmann_\/status\/1794188347377856618\">posted<\/a> on X. Former U.S. attorney and NBC\/MSNBC legal analyst Barb McQuade <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BarbMcQuade\/status\/1794365167062405564\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hoped<\/a> that Smith\u2019s order could tee up a recusal from Cannon if she refuses.<\/p>\n<p>But as Cleveland explained, those wishes are \u201cfantastical.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cJudge Cannon\u2019s only appearance of a supposed bias comes from her ruling against Smith\u2019s office,\u201d she wrote. \u201cIn fact, it seems unlikely the 11th Circuit would reverse Cannon if she were to deny Smith\u2019s motion because that motion seeks a vague and overbroad limit on Trump\u2019s speech.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-cef45ff890fd5a93e77df9125adfe149 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-cef45ff890fd5a93e77df9125adfe149\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A federal appeals court dismissed a coordinated effort to disqualify the judge in the Biden Justice Department&#8217;s lawsuit against ex-President Trump for seized documents.
