They encourage migration along the Central American route that leads to the U.S. border, then offer cash, as well as legal and resettlement services, to many of the more than <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2455010\/illegal-border-crossers-total-over-10-million-since-biden-inauguration\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">10 million people<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  who\u2019ve attempted to cross the border since Biden took office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The NGOs, which on their face represent Jewish, Catholic, and protestant Christian faiths, rake in millions of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-nevada-a-corrupt-cash-for-votes-scheme-is-hiding-in-plain-sight\/\" title=\"In Nevada, A Corrupt Cash-For-Votes Scheme Is Hiding In Plain Sight\">taxpayer dollars<\/a> as they create a pipeline from Central America to the Rio Grande and the Sonoran Desert \u2014 the doorstep of the United States. The conservative Heritage Foundation has called it a \u201ccorrupt money-changing circle,\u201d in which taxpayers are funding \u201cmigration weaponization used against America\u2019s interests.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One of the groups that has received the most attention for its facilitation of illegal immigrants is the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, known more commonly as HIAS. Founded in 1881 to assist Jewish immigrants get to the United States who were fleeing persecution in Russia and Eastern Europe, the group now operates both in Central America and throughout the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Putting the spotlight especially on HIAS is the fact that it counts Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who has overseen the border for the unprecedented surge of illegal immigration, as one of its previous board members. HIAS has routinely shown its support for the Biden administration official from the moment he was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hias.org\/statements\/hias-congratulates-board-member-alejandro-mayorkas-dhs-nomination\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nominated<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  \u2014 \u201che knows that America is at its greatest when we build bridges, not walls,\u201d the group wrote in its endorsement of the pick. Regarding Mayorka\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hias.org\/statements\/hias-profoundly-disappointed-mayorkas-impeachment\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">impeachment<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the group said it was \u201cprofoundly disappointed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">HIAS, which boasted a revenue of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/projects.propublica.org\/nonprofits\/organizations\/135633307\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$149 million<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  in 2022, offers a wide range of services to migrants both before and after they enter the United States. It <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.muckraker.com\/articles\/hias-exposed-migration-maps-revealed\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">provides maps<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  at their facilities to guide migrants through the treacherous Darien Gap, works with a number of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hias.org\/resettlement-partners\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">partner organizations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hias.org\/what\/resettle-refugees\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">resettle migrants<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  once they arrive in America, and provides <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hias.org\/statements\/care-partners-hias-provide-cash-assistance-afghans-resettled-u-s\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">cash assistance<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> once they\u2019ve settled. The organization also openly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hias.org\/statements\/hias-welcomes-expanded-resettlement-criticizes-administration-border-restrictions\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">advocates for<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  the United States to increase its resettlement program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The organization came under criticism after the Daily Signal <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2024\/04\/15\/group-in-mexico-displays-flyers-urging-illegal-aliens-to-vote-for-biden\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">revealed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  that flyers instructing migrants to \u201cvote for Biden\u201d were found at a facility on the Mexican side of the U.S. border. The facility described itself as \u201cthe home for HIAS, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/freedom-convoy-organizer-tamara-lich-released-from-jail-after-18-days\/\" title=\"Freedom Convoy Organizer Tamara Lich Released From Jail After 18 Days\">providing legal assistance<\/a> and assistance with obtaining formal documents for job search and integration into the city of Matamoros as they wait to access the asylum process in the U.S.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">HIAS receives substantial funds from the federal government \u2014 it has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/randoland.us\/bill_breakdowns\/refugee-revenue-hias-248-million-in-grants-under-biden\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">received $248 million<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  since 2021 in refugee aid grants from the State Department and the Administration for Children and Families under the Department of Health and Human Services. The organization\u2019s CEO, Mark Hetfield, pulled in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hias.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/hias_2020_form_990_website-1.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nearly $400,000<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  in compensation from HIAS in 2020, despite working less than 40 hours per week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Catholic Charities USA, Church World Services, and Global Refuge, formerly called the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, are also among the religiously affiliated NGOs <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/immigration\/commentary\/biden-shovels-millions-nonprofits-aid-his-open-border-schemes-congress-must\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">leveraging taxpayer dollars<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  to facilitate the migration and resettlement of foreign nationals into the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Catholic Charities USA received an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/companies\/catholic-charities-usa\/?sh=34862fda32b6\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">astonishing<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  $1.4 billion from the federal government in 2021. It reported a total of $4.7 billion in donations from all sources, though the entity and its funds are not solely focused on immigration issues. Immigration is, however, one of the main focuses of Catholic Charities USA, which specializes in resettlement services for new migrants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The organization <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/stories.catholiccharitiesusa.org\/and-they-shall-know-us-by-our-love\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">boasts<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  that it resettled nearly 12,000 Afghans in 36 different states in 2021 alone. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Catholic Charities USA also provides legal assistance to those who are applying for asylum and has criticized America\u2019s \u201cbroken system\u201d for handling immigration, which it says subjects migrants to \u201cindefinite imprisonment, separation of families, and denial of basic social services.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A wide range of Catholic entities have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usccb.org\/offices\/migration-policy\/justice-immigrants\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">called for amnesty<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  for illegal immigrants in the United States as part of a broader \u201cJustice for Immigrants Campaign,\u201d which the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usccb.org\/committees\/migration\/immigration\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">endorses<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The campaign, which was started in 2004, seeks \u201cbroad based legalization (permanent residency) of the undocumented of all nationalities\u201d and \u201cabandonment of the border \u2018blockade\u2019 enforcement strategy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Though the campaign began in 2004, Catholic Charities USA was one of the 18 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/justiceforimmigrants.org\/integrate\/letter-to-the-president-on-protections-for-longtime-undocumented-residents\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">signatories of a letter<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  from the Justice for Immigrants campaign to Biden this year urging him to \u201cprotect longtime undocumented residents of American communities from needless removals.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There\u2019s also Church World Services (CWS), a broadly Christian organization with a revenue of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/church-world-service-cws\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$68 million<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  in 2021, and Global Refugee, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalrefuge.org\/who-we-are\/identity\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">formerly<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, which both work to facilitate mass immigration into the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CWS has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cwsglobal.org\/action-alerts\/take-action-urge-congress-to-support-and-pass-permanent-pathways-to-citizenship-for-undocumented-immigrants\/?utm_source=rss&#038;utm_medium=rss&#038;utm_campaign=take-action-urge-congress-to-support-and-pass-permanent-pathways-to-citizenship-for-undocumented-immigrants\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">advocated<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  for a blanket amnesty for all of the millions of illegal immigrants currently present in the United States. The organization also <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cwsglobal.org\/learn\/migration-asylum-and-refuge\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tracks<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  \u201cstate and federal policies that advance pro-refugee, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/soros-is-putting-millions-behind-pro-amnesty-groups\/\" title=\"Soros Is Putting Millions Behind Pro-Amnesty Groups\">pro-immigrant policies<\/a> and neutralize harmful immigration proposals\u201d and has 23 refugee and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cwsglobal.org\/our-work\/united-states\/refugee-resettlement\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">immigration offices<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  across 17 different states to support its resettlement and legal services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Global Refuge similarly provides resettlement services and also offers <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalrefuge.org\/what-we-do\/immigration-legal-services\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">legal services<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, including assistance for those attempting to gain citizenship or have asylum claims approved.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The President of Global Refuge, Krish O\u2019Mara Vignarajah, was previously the Policy Director for First Lady Michelle Obama, and a Senior Advisor for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Secretary of State John Kerry. The organization\u2019s revenue has spiked drastically under the Biden administration, an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefp.com\/p\/nonprofits-make-billions-off-migrant-children\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">investigation from The Free Press<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  found, pulling in $50 million in revenue in 2018 and a whopping $207 million in 2022. Of the 2022 sum, $180 million came from the government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Organizations like HIAS, Catholic Charities USA, CWS, and Global Refuge collectively assist migrants as they are smuggled through Central America, welcome them once they arrive at the southern border of the United States, help them resettle throughout the rest of the country, and offer legal assistance to those who attempt to claim asylum by way of a system that is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cis.org\/Video\/Panel-Video-Asylum-Fraud-and-National-Security\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">wracked with fraud<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Biden administration has also given <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-admin-spent-nearly-20-billion-on-refugee-resettlement-in-just-two-years\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">billions of dollars<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  to the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), which in turn provides grants to NGOs involved in the resettlement process. Despite a massive increase in funding, The New York Times <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/02\/25\/us\/unaccompanied-migrant-child-workers-exploitation.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  that ORR had lost contact with the sponsors of about 85,000 unaccompanied migrant children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ORR also provides yet another example of how the NGOs often act as pipelines, taking those involved in resettlement and asylum processes and preparing them for powerful careers in government. ORR\u2019s director Robin Dunn Marcos, for example, previously worked for two resettlement organizations that receive funding from ORR, the International Rescue Committee and the Church World Service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Biden administration and the NGOs that work alongside the federal government have presided over the worst border crisis in American history, with over 9.5 million <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/newsroom\/stats\/nationwide-encounters\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nationwide encounters<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  and 1.7 million <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/biden-admin-may-have-lost-track-millions-of-migrants-crossing-southern-border-congressional-report\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">estimated illegal immigrant gotaways<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  being recorded during the Democrat\u2019s term.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now immigration has become a critical election year issue, with polls showing that voters are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/voters-say-immigration-is-top-issue-facing-country-biden-faces-widespread-disapproval-on-immigration\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">broadly critical<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  of Biden\u2019s performance on the issue, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/more-americans-trust-trump-over-biden-to-handle-economy-immigration-crime\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">trust former President Donald Trump<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  to handle the border more than they trust Biden, and are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/over-half-of-americans-support-mass-deportations-of-illegal-immigrants\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in favor<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  of the former president\u2019s plan to deport illegal immigrants en masse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>America&#8217;s border crisis is partly due to President Joe Biden&#8217;s policies.
