The controversy surrounding \u2063the FBI&#8217;s actions \u200dhas \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/china-moves-to-buy-german-semiconductor-factory-after-new-u-s-chip-ban\/\" title=\"China Moves to Buy German Semiconductor Factory After New U.S. Chip Ban\">sparked public debate<\/a> and media scrutiny.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<figure>                         <\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Attorney General Merrick Garland, who notably \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/11\/attorney-general-merrick-garland-admits-he-personally-approved-fbi-raid-on-trumps-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">personally approved<\/a>\u201d\u00a0the FBI\u2019s August 2022 raid on former President Donald Trump\u2019s Florida home, said Tuesday that allegations that the Department of Justice and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbi.gov\/about\/faqs\/what-is-the-fbi#:~:text=The%20FBI%20is%20an%20intelligence,of%20the%20U.S.%20Intelligence%20Community.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">its principal investigative arm<\/a> greenlit authorization to \u201ckill the former president\u201d during the Mar-a-Lago raid are \u201cfalse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe allegation is false. As the FBI has explained, the document that\u2019s being discussed is our standard use-of-force protocol, which is a limitation on the use of force, which is routinely part of the package for search warrants and was part of the package for the search of President Biden\u2019s home as well,\u201d Garland claimed during his testimony to the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Garland even went so far as to claim that <em>suggesting<\/em> the FBI could have killed Trump that day, not the reality that the FBI <em>could have killed <\/em>Trump that day, is \u201cdangerous\u201d and \u201craises threats of violence\u201d against employees of the DOJ and FBI.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Merrick Garland: Authorizing deadly force in the FBI Mar-a-Lago raid was &#8220;standard&#8221; and &#8220;routine.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6NKxhNWtoT\">pic.twitter.com\/6NKxhNWtoT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Townhall.com (@townhallcom) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/townhallcom\/status\/1798004779790356942?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 4, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>A recently unsealed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.declassified.live\/p\/fbi-authorized-use-of-deadly-force?r=4yy1i&#038;utm_campaign=post&#038;utm_medium=web\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">operations order<\/a> about the Trump raid\u00a0confirms the FBI was authorized to use \u201cdeadly force\u201d against the Republican and any of the Mar-a-Lago staff if they deemed it \u201cnecessary.\u201d FBI agents on the scene were equipped with \u201cStandard Issue Weapon, Ammo, [and] Handcuffs\u201d and \u201cmedium and large sized bolt cutters\u201d in their quest to sift through Trump\u2019s presidential belongings.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Shortly after the key documents were publicized, Trump accurately noted in <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240522195451\/https:\/\/secure.winred.com\/trump-national-committee-jfc\/lp-hf-sms-dn-deadly-force?exitintent=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">several<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/perma.cc\/U8G9-2S39\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">campaign fundraising<\/a> emails that \u201cBiden\u2019s DOJ was authorized to shoot me!\u201d Nothing about Trump\u2019s statement was inaccurate, yet corrupt corporate media outlets quickly tried to discredit his claims with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/trump-falsely-claims-biden-authorized-192806893.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fake \u201cfact checks\u201d<\/a> amplifying the FBI\u2019s insistence that it \u201cfollowed standard protocol.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one ordered additional steps to be taken and there was no departure from the norm in this matter,\u201d the FBI <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/05\/22\/trump-fbi-mar-a-lago-search-deadly-force\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said in a statement<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>In reality, nothing about the partisan raid and prosecution of Trump has been <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/seanmdav\/status\/1793767266653446221\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cstandard,\u201d \u201croutine,\u201d or precedented. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Facebook also used the FBI\u2019s comment to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/24\/facebook-censors-media-who-criticize-fbis-deadly-force-raid-against-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">run bogus fact-checks<\/a> on outlets such as The Federalist and slap \u201cmissing context\u201d labels on them for accurately reporting on and criticizing the \u201cdeadly force.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>House\u00a0Judiciary\u00a0Committee Ranking Member Jerry Nadler joined the dogpile on Tuesday, asking the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-ag-barr-authorizes-federal-prosecutors-to-pursue-substantial-allegations-of-voting-irregularities-before-2020-election-is-certified\/\" title=\"BREAKING: AG Barr Authorizes Federal Prosecutors to Pursue \"Substantial Allegations\" of Voting Irregularities Before 2020 Election is Certified\">attorney general<\/a> about the deadly-force authorization during the Mar-a Lago raid, \u201cSo when former President Trump alleges that this was an assassination attempt against him, he is not telling the truth, either knowingly or, as is often the case with him, unknowingly?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Garland agreed. \u201cI\u2019m just saying that the allegation is not true. This is our standard use-of-force policy, which limits the use of force that agents can use. It is used as a routine manner in searches. That was a court-authorized search, and it accompanied that package, as it routinely does,\u201d Garland concluded.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ\u2019s Special Counsel Jack Smith used boxes his team recovered from Trump\u2019s home and that federal prosecutors <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/06\/filings-jack-smith-tampered-with-evidence-in-get-trump-classified-documents-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tampered<\/a> with to\u00a0indict the former president and 2024 front-runner. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden, who also retained classified documents from his time as a senator and vice president, was let off <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/12\/hur-biden-white-house-pressured-me-to-change-my-report-findings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">scot-free<\/a> by his own DOJ.<\/p>\n<p>When Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan asked Garland if he regretted naming Smith as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sidney-powell-is-an-american-legal-giant\/\" title=\"Sidney Powell Is an American Legal Giant\">special counsel<\/a> because \u201cprosecutors aren\u2019t supposed to tamper with evidence, and it looks like that\u2019s what he did,\u201d Garland claimed that was \u201ca false characterization,\u201d even though Smith admitted to it in court.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Jordan Boyd is a staff writer at The Federalist and producer of The Federalist Radio Hour.
