Later in his term, Biden allowed for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/mayorkas-says-border-patrol-encounters-down-by-half-since-title-42-expired\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">expiration<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/mayorkas-says-border-patrol-encounters-down-by-half-since-title-42-expired\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pandemic-era Title 42<\/a>, which allowed authorities to quickly turn away migrants at the border on public health grounds.<\/p>\n<p>Members of Congress, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/speaker-johnson-presses-biden-to-use-executive-actions-for-border-crisis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/house-dem-centrists-push-for-border-security-after-biden-signs-foreign-aid-bill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">centrist Democrats<\/a>, urged Biden to use his executive authority to stem the tide of illegal immigration as well as stop an influx of fentanyl, human trafficking, and devastation of local communities.<\/p>\n<p>Biden had resisted pressure to take executive action, but is now poised to sign an order after the Democrat-controlled Senate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/this-is-a-stunt-senate-rejects-border-security-bill-again\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rejected<\/a> a bill \u2014 for the second time \u2014 that sought to tighten up the asylum process and shore up border security a couple of weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/611135\/immigration-surges-top-important-problem-list.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Border security<\/a> as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/611135\/immigration-surges-top-important-problem-list.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">immigration<\/a> have become top issues for Americans as Biden is poised to once again face off against Trump in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/are-covid-case-surges-more-fake-news\/\" title=\"Are COVID Case Surges More Fake News?\">presidential election<\/a> that is coming up in November.
