The bill will also give women more access to over-the-counter contraception and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-passes-95-billion-foreign-aid-package-with-possible-tiktok-ban\/\" title=\"Senate approves  billion foreign aid bill including potential TikTok prohibition\">prevent tax dollars<\/a> from aiding to \u201cdestroy life\u201d by funding abortion or abortion providers, according to bill text provided exclusively to the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIn the face of Democrats\u2019 radical abortion on demand, I am proud to provide women greater access to safe and effective birth control,\u201d\u00a0Ernst said in an exclusive statement to the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>.\u00a0\u201cMy bill will increase over-the-counter contraception options while bringing much-needed transparency and accountability to ensure the government uses tax dollars to support families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Senate is set to vote on the Right to Contraception Act, which has the backing of Senate Majority Leader <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/chuck-schumer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Chuck Schumer<\/a> (D-NY), this week. Schumer noted in his support letter that June 24 will mark two years since the Supreme Court overturned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/roe-v-wade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ernst\u2019s bill comes as Republicans look to distance themselves from recent rulings out of Alabama and Arizona that placed possible roadblocks to women\u2019s reproductive health in terms of in-vitro fertilization and abortion, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>After Alabama\u2019s state Supreme Court ruled frozen embryos are legally children, many health systems and hospitals announced they would halt IVF procedures over fears of prosecution. The ruling created a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/2867944\/how-alabama-ivf-ruling-cause-political-chaos-for-gop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title> political headache<\/a> for Republicans in the wake of <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> being overturned.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats have since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3026084\/democrats-offensive-against-republican-ivf-initiative-new-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>attacked Republicans <\/a>in Congress for being anti-IVF and anti-abortion, comments which many GOP lawmakers have pushed back against and spurned legislative action in both chambers, such as Rep. Anna Paulina Luna\u2019s (R-FL) bill <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/2921812\/anna-paulina-luna-introduces-ivf-legislation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>discouraging states from prohibiting IVF<\/a> and Sens.
