Dr. Fauci has denied personal\u2064 gains\u200c from \u200cthese royalties.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<figure>                         <\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Federal agencies under Dr. Anthony Fauci\u2019s leadership received hundreds of millions in pharmaceutical royalties over the coronavirus pandemic. <\/p>\n<p>According to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.openthebooks.com\/substack-breaking-big-pharma-paid-690-million-to-faucis-agency-through-secret-third-party-royalties-during-pandemic-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">investigation<\/a> by the nonprofit government watchdog Open the Books, pharmaceutical and health care companies paid more than $710 million to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which Fauci led from 1984 to 2022, received more than $690 million, or 97 percent, of the total $710 million. The payments to NIAID, the group reported, represent a two-year average that is 175 times higher than the average of less than $5 million reported over the previous decade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNIH and N[I]AID wasted countless taxpayer dollars illegally resisting the requirement to tell taxpayers what was happening with their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-worthy-recipient-pro-life-group-names-trump-pro-life-person-of-the-year\/\" title=\"\u201cA Worthy Recipient\u201d- Pro-Life Group Names Trump Pro-Life \u201cPerson Of The Year\u201d\">tax dollars<\/a>,\u201d Open the Books reported. \u201cThat\u2019s because in [each of] the next two years \u2014 2022 and 2023 \u2014 Fauci\u2019s institute collected the equivalent of 175 years in NIAID royalty payments. Nearly $690 million in just two years vs. $23.9 million over 12 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fauci\u2019s deputies in the NIH have come under recent congressional investigation for efforts to escape accountability under federal transparency laws through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Last month, NIH Senior Advisor Dr. David Morens <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/05\/22\/us-news\/explosive-emails-show-top-nih-adviser-deleted-records-used-secret-back-channels-to-help-fauci-ecohealth-evade-covid-transparency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">laughed off<\/a> lawmakers\u2019 questions related to exchanges referencing a \u201c\u2018secret\u2019 back channel\u201d to communicate with Dr. Fauci. According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/SSCP-Staff-Memo_Morens-5.22.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">memo<\/a> released by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, new documents suggest Morens inappropriately deleted records, colluded with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/schiff-nadler-call-flynn-pardon-abuse-of-power\/\" title=\"Schiff, Nadler Call Flynn Pardon 'Abuse of Power'\">government officials<\/a> to evade transparency requests, and used private email for government business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was not aware that anything I deleted like emails was a federal record,\u201d Morens said on Capitol Hill. <\/p>\n<p>Fauci himself <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/tomselliott\/status\/1797647755935949013\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">denied<\/a> ever using private email to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-senator-asks-two-biden-cabinet-members-whether-high-ranking-officials-are-using-encrypted-apps-to-cloak-communications\/\" title=\"GOP Senator Asks Two Biden Cabinet Members Whether \u2018High Ranking\u2019 Officials Are Using Encrypted Apps To \u2018Cloak\u2019 Communications\">conduct government business<\/a> when he testified before lawmakers on Monday in his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/06\/02\/fauci-covid-research-investigative-panel-00161109\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">first<\/a> public <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KuUQNMWUMiU&#038;list=RDNSKuUQNMWUMiU&#038;start_radio=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">appearance<\/a> on Capitol Hill since 2022. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do not do government business on my private email,\u201d Fauci <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/06\/03\/us-news\/fauci-testifies-on-covid-19-origins-us-response-live-updates-fact-check-analysis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>, denying the existence of a \u201cback channel\u201d to speak with colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>The former NIAID director also denied raking in significant pharmaceutical royalties associated with the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI received, I think, $122 for a monoclonal antibody that I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/this-forgotten-90s-movie-eerily-predicted-the-current-immigration-standoff\/\" title=\"90s Film Predicted Current Immigration Standoff\">made 27 years ago<\/a>,\u201d Fauci told the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. Nearly all the names were concealed from public view until the nonprofit watchdog sued to force compliance with transparency requests.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe exemptions cited under FOIA law justifying the redactions, (b)(4), protect \u2018from disclosure trade secrets and commercial or financial information that is privileged and confidential,&#8217;\u201d Open the Books reported. \u201cWhy the names of NIH scientists are considered \u2018confidential\u2019 or \u2018trade secrets\u2019 is unexplained.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fauci characteristically dismissed critics of his dystopian lockdown prescriptions to shut down the entire country amid the coronavirus pandemic four years ago.
