Upper III<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   June 3, 2024 at 9:46am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>Two planes collided during an airshow in Portugal on Sunday, resulting in the death of one of the pilots.<\/p>\n<p>The midair accident involved two Yakovlev Yak-52 taking part in a demonstration at the Beja Air Show, according to Portugal\u2019s air force, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/airplanes-collide-in-disastrous-portuguese-air-show-mishap-killing-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Beast<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe air force regrets to announce that at 4:05 pm (1505 GMT), at the Beja Air Show, two planes were the victim of an accident during an aerial demonstration,\u201d the air force said in a statement cited by the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/air-show-tragedy-crowd-favorite-shockwave-jet-truck-driver-dead-violent-tarmac-explosion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">air show<\/a> was understandably canceled following the crash.<\/p>\n<p>International news agency BNO News shared footage of the collision on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/seeing-harmful-effects-mom-offers-son-huge-reward-staying-off-social-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">JUST IN: 2 planes collide and crash during airshow in Portugal, at least 1 pilot killed <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XujrbEQBoe\">pic.twitter.com\/XujrbEQBoe<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 BNO News (@BNONews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BNONews\/status\/1797306416606085202?\">June 2, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cTwo Yakovlev Yak-52 aircraft of the Spanish-Portuguese Yakstars formation team collided during the Beja Air Show, Portugal,\u201d the Aviation Safety Network database reported, though it noted that all of its information came from \u201cunofficial\u201d sources like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nobody-trusts-media-trusted-news-anchors-america-poll-wild-results\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-73976-ballots-released-by-maricopa-county-56-1-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"BREAKING: 73,976 Ballots Released By Maricopa County \u2014 56.1% FOR DONALD TRUMP\">news outlets<\/a><\/a> or posts to social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne aircraft crashed, killing the spanish pilot. The other aircraft involved in the collision managed to land, according to local media,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVideos of the accident suggest that one aircraft (Yakstar 4) descended from the six-ship formation and made a steep climb in front of the Vic-formation of the remaining five aircraft,\u201d it reported. \u201cDuring this maneuver the aircraft struck the propeller of the aircraft in the left wing position (Yakstar 3, EC-NGZ). Yakstar 4 suffered severe damage to the tail, lost control and crashed.
