He emphasized public perception\u200b and criticized the focus on past controversies, highlighting the importance of voters&#8217; judgment on leadership qualities and national interests. Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy criticized CNN for biased reporting against Donald\u2063 Trump\u2062 and Republicans \u200bduring a\u2063 heated interview. McCarthy raised doubts about the \u2062fairness of the\u2064 prosecution and \u2062highlighted the \u2064significance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-circuit-breaker-on-election-night\/\" title=\"The question looms: just how does it come to be that three quarters of Republican and nearly one third of Democrat voters all believe that the election was stolen from Trump?\">public opinion<\/a> in evaluating leadership and \u200dnational concerns.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) accused CNN of skewed coverage against former President Donald Trump and other Republicans during a heated interview over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy made the remarks on Sunday to CNN reporter Manu Raju on the network\u2019s \u201cInside Politics\u201d program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs it a good idea that Donald Trump is the nominee? The answer is 100 percent yes,\u201d McCarthy said. \u201cWill Donald Trump win this presidency? The answer is yes. And it\u2019s interesting. I was watching the earlier part of your show and I get it. The verdict has just come in, and the question is, should it even have gone to trial? The majority of Americans understand that if Donald Trump did not run for president, this never would even gone to trial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then listed numerous problems he had with the case, including the prosecution\u2019s bias, the fact that the previous prosecutor declined to bring the case, the DOJ\u2019s not charging Trump related to the case, and the FEC\u2019s not raising concerns over the matter at hand.<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy added that most of the country was concerned about President Joe Biden\u2019s presidency and that \u201cat the end of the day Democrats have overplayed their hand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it happens in world history when someone persecutes a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/walsh-many-on-the-left-truly-want-their-political-opponents-to-die-the-reaction-to-limbaughs-passing-proves-that\/\" title=\"WALSH: Many On The Left Truly Want Their Political Opponents To Die. The Reaction To Limbaugh\u2019s Passing Proves That.\">political enemy<\/a> simply because they\u2019re political enemy, it usually backfires on them and it creates a movement,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>When Raju continued to harp over the hush money payment to an adult film actress during Trump\u2019s first campaign, McCarthy responded: \u201cIf you go with this premise that this is something illegal, what was in the law that this broke? Then you would go back and should Hillary Clinton be tried because she paid a law firm to create a fictitious Russia issue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not talking about Hillary Clinton,\u201d Raju snapped back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know you\u2019re not talking about that, but the American public is going to look at all this is. This isn\u2019t just a CNN question. You\u2019re asking what does the American public look at?\u201d McCarthy responded. \u201cYou had Joe Biden go out and tell the American public that the laptop wasn\u2019t true. You had this network say a dubious, doubtful about it. I mean, people put it in perspective. Was this politically motivated that you even took him to court about this? The answer is overwhelming yes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Raju highlighted a clip and suggested Trump did not have the character to be president, McCarthy noted that voters would base their decision on what\u2019s best for the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe didn\u2019t have inflation. We didn\u2019t have war in Europe. We didn\u2019t have five embassies evacuated,\u201d he said. \u201cWe didn\u2019t have 13 Gold Star families by a missed decision in Afghanistan. We didn\u2019t have this new axis of evil that we haven\u2019t seen from the 1930s, pushing China to Russia\u2013\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Raju suggested that McCarthy was indicating that character didn\u2019t matter, McCarthy fired back: \u201cIs there a character matter when you say Biden used his own power to tell the American public that the laptop was not true? That Biden use now through the secretary of state to go to 51 people in the intel community, former CIA directors, to tell the American public that that wasn\u2019t true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m weighing it all. I\u2019m being consistent. I know what network I\u2019m on, but this is what\u2019s interesting to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Raju tried to stop him from talking, McCarthy said: \u201cNo, wait a minute. Let me answer a question, come on. Don\u2019t be so nervous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDemocrats have challenged every single Republican elected to president since George Bush.
