These investments \u2064aim to\u2062 enhance safety, efficiency, and economic growth in the aviation sector.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_79\">\n<p>(The Center Square) \u2014 The federal government announced a pair of airport grants for Georgia, including money for an airport in middle Georgia and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/still-winning-florida-reporting-lowest-coronavirus-case-rate-per-capita-in-u-s\/\" title=\"Still Winning: Florida Reporting Lowest Coronavirus Case Rate Per Capita in U.S.\">statewide grant program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The funding is part of nearly $187\u202fmillion in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ecohealth-alliance-gets-six-figure-weapons-of-mass-destruction-grant-from-defense-department\/\" title=\"EcoHealth Alliance Gets Six-Figure \"Weapons Of Mass Destruction\" Grant From Defense Department\">taxpayer-backed grants<\/a> for 90 airport-related projects in 34 states that the Federal Aviation Administration announced on Friday. The funding was included in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which some call the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.<\/p>\n<p>The feds announced more than $1.5 million to the Georgia State Block Grant Program to build or improve parking lots, rehabilitate runways, replace runway markings and signage and update airport master plans or studies.<\/p>\n<p>The feds also announced more than $1 million to extend a runway at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport in Macon.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the Middle Georgia Regional Airport did not respond to a Friday request for comment, and a spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Transportation, which handles the Georgia State Block Grant Program, did not immediately have more information.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese grants not only invest in the physical infrastructure of our airports, but also in strengthening safety and improving efficiency for travelers, and help the economy thrive,\u201d FAA Associate Administrator for Airports Shannetta R. Griffin said in an announcement.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/treasury-department-hit-with-large-scale-breach-national-security-council-now-involved\/\" title=\"Treasury Department Hit with Large-Scale Breach, National Security Council Now Involved\">federal officials<\/a> said the Peach State was poised to receive $120 million for airport infrastructure upgrades across the state as part of the fiscal 2024 Airport Infrastructure Grant program.
