Johnson confirmed this during an\u2064 appearance\u2063 on Fox News Sunday. The House Subcommittee\u200b on the Weaponization of the Federal Government is set to listen to \u200dBragg&#8217;s testimony on June 13, \u200dfollowing his successful prosecution of former President Donald\u2062 Trump. Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, of Louisiana, declared an investigation by a House committee into Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.\u2064 Johnson confirmed this on Fox News Sunday. That\u2019s a really important thing for us to delve into,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cAnd we\u2019re going to look at a special counsel Jack Smith, who we believe is abusing his authority as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>The reference to Smith was in regard to his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/what-trump-can-and-cant-say-now-that-hes-under-a-gag-order-in-criminal-court\/\" title=\"Trump's speech restricted by criminal court's gag order.\">ongoing election subversion case<\/a> against the former president. Trump pleaded not guilty to the charges surrounding his handling of classified documents following his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-gop-push-back-on-impeachment-talks\/\" title=\"White House, GOP push back on impeachment talks\">presidential term<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Even though Trump lost his trial in New York, it has correlated with an increase in financial support for the Republican presidential candidate. The Trump campaign raised $1.5 million after the first day in court and then doubled that amount three days later, with more donations adding up to $76 million raised in April alone.
