Jeffries supported Biden&#8217;s\u2062 remarks, emphasizing Biden&#8217;s right as a concerned father\u200b to\u200b comment on his son&#8217;s upcoming trial for gun charges.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>The top House Democrat shrugged off concerns about President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a> commenting publicly about the criminal matters his son <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/hunter-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hunter Biden<\/a> is facing in cases being prosecuted by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lawyer-who-suggested-trump-colluded-with-russia-in-2016-might-be-indicted-for-lying-to-the-fbi-report\/\" title=\"Lawyer Who Suggested Trump Colluded With Russia In 2016 Might Be Indicted For Lying To The FBI: REPORT\">special counsel appointed<\/a> by the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p>During an NBC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-q-vTB1N1iA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> on Sunday, \u201cMeet The Press\u201d guest moderator Peter Alexander asked Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) to opine on whether there was any impropriety by the commander in chief ahead of a trial slated to begin this week.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hakeem Jeffries claims it&#8217;s completely appropriate for Crooked Joe Biden to weigh in publicly on Hunter&#8217;s criminal trial \u2014 which begins tomorrow \u2014 because he&#8217;s commenting &#8220;as a loving father&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zS1OgR9ehs\">pic.twitter.com\/zS1OgR9ehs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1797287725629915494?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 2, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cLet me ask you about another question that we\u2019ll be watching and will make headlines this week. Hunter Biden, the president\u2019s son, goes on trial for gun charges beginning tomorrow. President Biden said last year, quote, \u201cMy son has done nothing wrong,&#8217;\u201d Alexander said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Wall Street Journal, as you see here, the editorial board said at the time, quote, \u2018That\u2019s a highly inappropriate message from a president. He\u2019s essentially telling prosecutors that they are wrong to bring an indictment because Hunter is innocent of any criminal behavior.\u2019 Why was it appropriate for President Biden to publicly comment on his son\u2019s case?\u201d Alexander continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Biden commented as a loving father, as I would hope any loving father would do. Hunter Biden of course is entitled, as was Donald Trump, to the presumption of innocence and to a trial by a jury of his peers,\u201d Jeffries responded.<\/p>\n<p>He was alluding to the criminal indictments that Trump is trying to fend off as the former president runs for re-election ahead of what may be a 2020 rematch in November against the elder Biden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd this Justice Department is going to proceed in that fashion, present the facts and the law,\u201d Jeffries added. \u201cAnd then we\u2019ll all have to wait for a determination that is made by a jury as to Hunter Biden\u2019s guilt or innocence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden faces two criminal indictments that arose out of the federal investigation into his conduct led by special counsel David Weiss. The first son has pleaded not guilty to gun and tax charges. His <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-offered-chinese-exec-a-meeting-with-his-vp-father-during-sandy-hook-memorial-trip-messages-show\/\" title=\"Messages reveal that Hunter Biden proposed a meeting with his VP father during a trip to the Sandy Hook memorial for a Chinese executive\">gun-related trial<\/a> is expected to begin this week in Delaware.<\/p>\n<p>A jury returned a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/verdict-trump-found-guilty-on-all-charges-in-hush-money-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guilty verdict<\/a> against Trump on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to allegedly cover up payments in a bid to conceal a tryst with adult film star Stormy Daniels as part of a \u201ccatch-and-kill\u201d scheme to influence the 2016 election.
