The Biden campaign gains momentum\u200b after the hush-money trial of ex-President Trump, \u200bas Democrats label him a &#8220;felon.&#8221; \u200dThe Biden-Harris HQ X post\u2062 targets Trump, branding him without evidence. \u2063This move raises \u2063questions about idolizing George Floyd despite his criminal past, adding an ironic twist to the situation.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/commentary\/\">  Commentary <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/ccavanaugh\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/ccavanaugh\/%20\"><span>Connor Cavanaugh<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   June 2, 2024 at 10:26am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>The campaign behind President Joe Biden has been in a frenzy since the so-called hush-money trial for former President Donald Trump has finished and Democrats have been ecstatic to attach \u201cfelon\u201d to his name quickly.<\/p>\n<p>On the Biden-Harris HQ X account, an official account for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/initial-post-verdict-poll-will-democrats-screaming-terror\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democrats\u2019<\/a> campaign, a post was published Friday captioned \u201c34 Lowlights from Convicted Felon Donald Trump\u2019s \u2018Press Conference&#8217;\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">34 Lowlights from Convicted Felon Donald Trump\u2019s \u201cPress Conference\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/STHrmoT4Dj\">pic.twitter.com\/STHrmoT4Dj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Biden-Harris HQ (@BidenHQ) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1796702503247159793?\">June 1, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While the post alone is problematic as it makes tons of claims that are meant to rebuke what was said by Trump in a news conference but doesn\u2019t provide any evidence rebuking them, the title itself is perhaps the biggest issue of them all.<\/p>\n<p>Putting \u201cConvicted Felon Donald Trump\u201d was undoubtedly not a mistake, but an intentional choice made by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/starbucks-received-insensitive-backlash-for-going-woke-now-they-may-depart-facebook-altogether\/\" title=\"Starbucks Received \u2018Insensitive\u2019 Backlash For Going Woke. Now They May Depart Facebook Altogether.\">social media team<\/a> to attack Trump.<\/p>\n<p>It was gloating, pure and simple.<\/p>\n<p>But there\u2019s so much irony in the party attempting to attack him for his conviction in a kangaroo court when they closely associated and idolized figures who were felons in proper courts.<\/p>\n<p>Easily the most deified felon of them all would be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/george-floyd-biopic-announced-daughter-will-play-big-role-film\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">George Floyd<\/a>, whose death spurred the whole Black Lives Matter movement to riot and ransack half the country.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Will Trump\u2019s conviction be overturned?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>While the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/photos-witnesses-say-lightning-strike-destroyed-mural-honoring-george-floyd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">murals<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/media-and-political-attacks-on-national-guard-at-border-inaccurate-false-says-texas-military\/\" title=\"Media and Political Attacks on National Guard at Border 'Inaccurate, False,' Says Texas Military\">social media posts attempt<\/a> to paint Floyd as a gentle giant, his criminal record tells a notably different story.<\/p>\n<p>The 6\u2032 6\u2033 man had many run-ins with the law while living in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/parole-board-rejects-effort-clear-george-floyds-name\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas<\/a>, spending months in and out of jail for a handful of different drug and theft charges, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox9.com\/news\/who-was-george-floyd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KMSP-TV<\/a> in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n<p>His biggest stint was in 2007 when he was charged with aggravated robbery after he placed a gun on a woman\u2019s stomach and demanded drugs and money, pleading guilty to the felony charge in 2009. He was released from prison in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, none of that mattered to Democrats who were quick to raise him to the status of a progressive saint after his passing.<\/p>\n<p>President Biden especially did all he could to raise Floyd\u2019s name up, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-host-family-george-floyd-1-year-anniversary-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hosting his family<\/a> a year after Floyd\u2019s death and claiming Floyd\u2019s death had a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/joe-biden-mlks-assassination-not-worldwide-impact-death-george-floyd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bigger global impact<\/a> than the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.<\/p>\n<p>But you never saw them address the legacy of George Floyd and his status as a \u201cfelon,\u201d when it\u2019s for a far more sinister reason than Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, they swept it under the rug to force their agenda forward.<\/p>\n<p>So there\u2019s quite an irony when leftists claim that Republicans are insane for supporting a man who has been attacked by the establishment and unreasonably pursued legally while they deify a violent felon who had an unfortunate death.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps it\u2019s unreasonable to expect Democrats to see the irony behind their actions, but I nonetheless hope for better from the blue party.<\/p>\n<p>Americans, even liberal Americans, deserve better.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>I heard a chilling comment the other day: \u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>That wasn\u2019t said by a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday prophet.
