Despite the\u200c bipartisan\u2062 invitation, Sanders expressed his disapproval \u2063of Netanyahu&#8217;s \u200cinvitation, \u2063labeling him a &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-nazi-guard-living-in-tennessee-deported-to-germany\/\" title=\"Former Nazi Guard Living In Tennessee Deported To Germany\">war criminal<\/a>.&#8221; Sanders highlighted concerns about Israel&#8217;s actions\u200d following a Hamas\u200d attack \u2064and\u200c criticized the country&#8217;s civilian casualties,\u200b destruction of infrastructure,\u200b and hindrance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-administration-faces-mounting-pressure-to-act-in-ethiopian-conflict\/\" title=\"Biden Administration Faces Mounting Pressure to Act in Ethiopian Conflict\">humanitarian aid<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Sen. <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/bernie-sanders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Bernie Sanders<\/a> (I-VT) reiterated his intention to boycott Israeli Prime Minister <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/benjamin-netanyahu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a>\u2018s planned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/3015246\/lawmakers-boycotting-netanyahu-address-to-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"address to Congress\">address to Congress<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>House and Senate leadership invited Netanyahu to speak to the legislature. While the date of his visit remains to be seen, Sanders issued a statement Saturday to confirm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/3015246\/lawmakers-boycotting-netanyahu-address-to-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"again\">again<\/a> that he will not be in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a very sad day for our country that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been invited \u2014 by leaders from both parties \u2014 to address a joint meeting of the United States Congress,\u201d Sanders wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBenjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal,\u201d he added. \u201cHe should not be invited to address a joint meeting of Congress. I certainly will not attend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sanders asserted that \u201cIsrael, of course, had the right to defend itself\u201d following the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023, but condemned the country for killing 34,000 civilians, destroying housing and schools, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-risch-wont-lift-hold-on-palestinian-aid-without-guarantee-taxpayer-money-is-kept-from-terrorists\/\" title=\"Sen. Risch Won\u2019t Lift Hold on Palestinian Aid Without Guarantee Taxpayer Money Is Kept From Terrorists\">blocking humanitarian aid<\/a>. Instead, he commended the International Criminal Court, whose prosecutor is seeking arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar for their respective alleged war crimes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ICC is right,\u201d Sanders wrote. \u201cBoth of these people are engaged in clear and outrageous violations of international law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) was involved in inviting Netanyahu to the Capitol and felt differently about the warrants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/international-criminal-court-preparing-investigation-into-russia-for-war-crimes\/\" title=\"International Criminal Court preparing investigation into Russia for war crimes\">arrest warrant request<\/a> by the International Criminal Court against democratically elected members of the Israeli government is shameful and unserious,\u201d Jeffries said in a statement. \u201cAmerica\u2019s commitment to Israel\u2019s security is ironclad. During a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/videos\/2922963\/reporters-notebook-schumer-calls-new-elections-israel-netanyahu-lost-way\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"hearing in March\">hearing in March<\/a>, he suggested that \u201cthe Netanyahu coalition no longer fits the needs of Israel after Oct. 7.\u201d He still proclaimed to be a \u201clifelong supporter of Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reps. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Maxwell Frost (D-FL), Chuy Garcia (D-IL), and Don Beyer (D-VA) have all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/videos\/2922963\/reporters-notebook-schumer-calls-new-elections-israel-netanyahu-lost-way\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"reportedly\">reportedly<\/a> committed to not attending the speech. Before the congressional leaders extended the invitation to Netanyahu, Rep.
