Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe \u2063Biden, is in debt to his ex-wife for\u2064 more than $1.7 million in spousal\u200b support, \u200clegal fees, and interest \u2064following their 2017 divorce. Recent court records exposed \u2062his\u2064 violation of the divorce settlement, which\u200b included monthly payments and a share of his income.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Hunter Biden, President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Joe-Biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a>\u2018s son, owes his ex-wife more than $1.7 million in spousal support, legal fees and interest since their 2017 divorce, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/autistic-college-student-punished-for-fist-bumps-and-selfies-gets-upsetting-news-in-court\/\" title=\"Autistic College Student Punished For Fist Bumps And Selfies Gets Upsetting News In Court\">documents shared<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/06\/01\/hunter-biden-court-trial-2024-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><em>Axios<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden\u2019s ex-wife Kathleen Buhle is expected to testify in his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/guns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>gun<\/a> case starting Monday and sometime during his Sept. 5 tax case.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/whitehouse-pushes-justice-dept-to-support-controversial-donor-disclosure-rule\/\" title=\"Whitehouse Pushes Justice Dept. to Support Controversial Donor Disclosure Rule\">court found<\/a> that Hunter Biden breached his divorce agreement in a January 2021 ruling \u2014 the agreement called for him to pay Buhle $37,000 a month plus 50% of anything he made over $875,000 annually.<\/p>\n<p>Court documents stated that Hunter Biden didn\u2019t pay Buhle the annual spousal support after he made $2.4 and $2.1 million in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Therefore, he was ordered to pay her $1.1 million plus 6% interest.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Hunter Biden mostly failed to pay Buhle her monthly alimony after she filed a civil suit against him in 2018, adding to his debt total. His lawyers said he wanted to pay his ex-wife but didn\u2019t have the money amid his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/drugs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>drug addiction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2020, the court reprimanded Hunter Biden for trying to delay a resolution \u201cfor as long as possible\u201d after he didn\u2019t pay a court-ordered $259,000 plus interest by April. That July, Hunter Biden\u2019s lawyers implied Buhle was blackmailing him with a threat to embarrass his father\u2019s presidential campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is likely hoped that there will be some financial intervention, funded by some third-party, to help Mr. Biden with these obligations, in an effort to avoid the anticipated embarrassment to his father\u2019s presidential campaign,\u201d Hunter Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/lawyers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>lawyer<\/a> Sarah Mancinelli wrote in July 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere will be no intervention satisfying Mr. Biden\u2019s obligations,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Buhle\u2019s lawyer, Wendy Schwartz, says Hunter owes Buhle more than $2.9 million.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMs. Buhle previously told this court that the expense and emotional toll this has had on her is enormous and appears to be never-ending.
