The lawsuit by\u200c Tesla shareholder Michael\u200d Perry against CEO Elon Musk for insider trading highlights concerns regarding Musk&#8217;s share sales timing and their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dominion-used-a-version-of-the-solorwinds-orion-platform-which-provides-backdoor-access-into-their-voting-machines\/\" title=\"Dominion Used a Version of the SolorWinds Orion Platform Which Provides Backdoor Access Into their Voting Machines\">potential impact<\/a> on Tesla&#8217;s performance following\u200d a production decline in late 2022.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_79\">\n<p>One <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/tesla\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Tesla<\/a> shareholder filed suit against CEO <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/elon-musk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Elon Musk<\/a>, alleging that he had committed <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/trade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>insider trading<\/a> by selling shares just before production took a downturn.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Perry filed the lawsuit in regard to Musk selling his shares in November and December of 2022. During that <a href=\"https:\/\/ir.tesla.com\/press-release\/tesla-vehicle-production-deliveries-and-date-financial-results-webcast-fourth-quarter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"fourth quarter\">fourth quarter<\/a>, Tesla delivered over 405,000 cars, which represented a growth of 40% year over year, despite a dip in November. <\/p>\n<p>However, Perry alleges that Musk would have lost 45% of his share value had he sold after the November production and delivery data became public. Share prices went down beginning around Nov. 4 when they were over $228 per share, down to just over $113 by that next January until it increased again.<\/p>\n<p>Perry filed his suit in Delaware\u2019s over 220-year-old Court of Chancery. On its <a href=\"https:\/\/courts.delaware.gov\/Chancery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a>, it describes itself \u201cas the nation\u2019s preeminent forum for the determination of disputes involving the internal affairs\u201d of various businesses nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIts unique competence in and exposure to issues of business law are unmatched,\u201d the website reads.<\/p>\n<p>This is the same court where a judge denied Musk\u2019s $56 billion compensation package in a lawsuit from one of Tesla\u2019s shareholder last month. Ever since, Musk has been pushing the company to no longer incorporate itself in Delware. Already Musk reincorporated his SpaceX company to\u00a0Texas\u00a0after it was originally incorporated in\u00a0Delaware.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> reached out to Tesla for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Musk sold these shares, which Perry alleges made him some $3 billion in insider profits, amid his purchase of social media platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Twitter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Twitter<\/a>.
