Jan Beroun, the director of \u2062the Czech Republic&#8217;s Military Intelligence \u200dagency, expressed apprehension to\u2062 the Czech \u200cParliament, highlighting \u2062the risks of data collection by Chinese \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/super-bowl-lv-all-the-best-commercials\/\" title=\"Super Bowl LV: All The Best Commercials\">electric cars<\/a> on their streets. Beroun warned that allowing such vehicles could lead to data leakage and loss of control over surveillance activities.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A high-ranking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/czech-republic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Czech Republic<\/a> military intelligence official is <a href=\"https:\/\/denikn.cz\/1437717\/cinska-elektroauta-jako-spionazni-zbran-snimaji-data-i-obliceje-a-nevime-kde-to-mizi-rika-sef-vojenskeho-zpravodajstvi-beroun\/?cst=e2496cf5ec07f49b17a80df7d9fce35f5a948709175e8fc4d7d41211e0bf7dce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>sounding<\/a> alarm bells on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/chinese\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Chinese<\/a> electric vehicles, warning they can \u201ccapture data and faces\u201d as they move.<\/p>\n<p>Jan Beroun, director of the Czech Republic\u2019s Military Intelligence agency, warned the Czech Parliament earlier this week that Chinese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/electric-vehicles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>electric cars<\/a> roaming their streets could be collecting data for China\u2019s government, and called the country \u201ctheir enemy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[If] we will allow Chinese electric cars here, we will allow a mobile sensor that collects data everywhere it goes, and we look satisfied.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI say with all responsibility that we are losing control of what is moving on our streets, what is capturing data and faces all over the neighborhood,\u201d Beroun added.<\/p>\n<p>Beroun mentioned there is no way to regular Chinese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/electric-vehicles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>EVs<\/a> at the moment or to know where this data is going, and said that the \u201cway China behaves, from the point of view of security and espionage, means that it is our enemy,\u201d Beroun said.<\/p>\n<p>The Czech military official said each <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/as-prices-surge-bitcoin-now-reportedly-consumes-more-electricity-than-argentina-netherlands-and-uae\/\" title=\"As Prices Surge, Bitcoin Now Reportedly Consumes More Electricity Than Argentina, Netherlands, And UAE\">electric car<\/a>, and some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/reports-rental-car-prices-see-hefty-hike-ahead-of-thanksgiving\/\" title=\"Reports: Rental Car Prices See Hefty Hike Ahead of Thanksgiving\">modern cars<\/a>, have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/san-francisco-stores-removing-self-checkout-stations-to-curb-theft-and-retail-crime\/\" title=\"San Francisco stores ditch self-checkout to combat theft and retail crime\">high-definition cameras<\/a> which could capture data for the Chinese government, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/06\/25\/technology\/china-surveillance-police.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>known<\/a> for being a \u201csurveillance state.\u201d Chinese companies are required to cooperate with their government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery Chinese product that is capable of collecting data (electric cars, mobile phones, tablets, etc.) represents a security risk,\u201d spokesman of the Czech Security Information Service, Ladislav Sticha, said. \u201cThe obtained data may end up with the Chinese intelligence services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Automotive expert Mike Caudill <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/media\/americans-should-absolutely-concerned-about-data-collection-spying-chinese-evs-auto-expert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>told<\/a> <em>Fox Business<\/em> in April that Americans should \u201cabsolutely be concerned\u201d about whether Chinese EVs in America are collecting their data and giving it to the Chinese government.<\/p>\n<p>The United States has already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3000732\/biden-administration-set-to-announce-new-tariffs-on-electric-vehicles-from-china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>discouraged<\/a> China from importing Chinese EVs and President Joe Biden has placed a 100% tariff placed on them in response to fears that the country could undercut the U.S.\u2019s efforts in electric vehicles with cheaply-made products.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jan Beroun, the director of the Czech Republic&#8217;s Military Intelligence agency, raised concerns about Chinese electric vehicles potentially gathering data and facial information.
