Democratic pollster John Zogby criticized the situation as shameful, \u200bwhile conservative grader Jed Babbin highlighted the administration&#8217;s \u2062struggles in Gaza and the economic challenges Biden \u200dfaces. The \u2062recent White House \u200cReport Card unveils President Joe Biden&#8217;s confrontation \u2062with consultant betrayal in his campaign for\u200b reelection and\u2064 attempts to supplant him on the \u200b2024 \u2063Democratic ticket. John Zogby,\u200c a \u2062Democratic pollster, denounced the scenario\u200b as disgraceful, whereas\u2062 Jed Babbin, a conservative \u2062evaluator, underscored the\u200d administration&#8217;s Gaza-related issues\u2062 and the \u200deconomic hurdles confronting Biden.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>This week\u2019s White House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/washington-secrets\/3017698\/white-house-report-card-biden-sinks-to-buying-votes-regulating-spaghetti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Report Card<\/a> finds President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3025195\/biden-worried-political-legal-retribution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a> fighting off a new round of consultant backstabbing over his reelection campaign and continued <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/washington-secrets\/3018752\/majority-democrats-54-say-dump-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>efforts to replace<\/a> him at the top of the 2024 Democratic ticket.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic pollster and grader John Zogby described the battle as shameful and said that the \u201cconsultant-industrial complex\u201d is in full panic mode months too early and at a time when they should be rallying around the president. What\u2019s more, Zogby said that they are worrying for nothing, considering that some polls show Biden still tied with former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>For his part, Trump had a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/washington-secrets\/3023463\/trump-real-crime-leading-joe-biden-polls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>miserable week,<\/a> being convicted of 34 charges in New York.<\/p>\n<p>The White House was socked again by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fed-found-economy-is-recovering-much-faster-than-officials-expected\/\" title=\"Fed Found Economy Is Recovering Much Faster Than Officials Expected\">report<\/a> that inflation was not cooling but remaining above the Fed\u2019s 2% goal. And Biden offered up yet another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3024468\/biden-announces-israel-ceasefire-hostage-swap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Gaza peace plan<\/a> without first winning any support from Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Even worse, said conservative grader Jed Babbin, the administration\u2019s efforts in Gaza turned disastrous when its $320 million humanitarian aid pier broke apart in a storm, what he called \u201cthe perfect metaphor for the Biden administration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>John Zogby<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Grade: C+<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>It only stands to reason that when your opponent is convicted on 34 felony charges, then there is potential for a good week. That is what happened, and President Joe Biden had reason to cheer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>There was also some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/americans-just-dont-buy-that-cnn-anchor-blasts-biden-for-blaming-gas-prices-on-russia\/\" title=\"\u2018Americans Just Don\u2019t Buy\u2019 That: CNN Anchor Blasts Biden For Blaming Gas Prices On Russia\">good economic news<\/a> this week. Consumer confidence metrics were\u00a0 higher and fears of recession were down. The annualized rate of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/inflation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>inflation<\/a> held steady at 2.7%. That is the calculation that the Federal Reserve uses in its deliberations so it was at least some validation of progress for Biden.<\/em><\/p>\n<figure>\n<p> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Zogby Report | 05.31.24 - Guilty in Court. Guilty Before The Public?\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sxDXEnegP-Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><em>In a new poll for PBS\/NPR, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>president<\/a> not only led Trump but reached 50%, a horse race figure he has seen only rarely in the past year.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>On the other hand, the president keeps drawing imaginary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/blinken-rebukes-china-for-human-rights-abuses-in-call-with-chinese-diplomat\/\" title=\"Blinken Rebukes China for Human Rights Abuses in Call with Chinese Diplomat\">red lines<\/a> for Israel to not cross in Rafah, where Israel crosses them with U.S. weapons, and then new red lines have to be drawn.\u00a0 Biden and Secretary of State <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Antony-Blinken\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Antony Blinken<\/a> have given Israel more red lines than a \u201cWhere\u2019s Waldo\u201d shirt. They have also given \u201capproval\u201d to Ukraine to use American weapons to attack inside Russia\u2019s border, threatening a full-scale NATO war.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And \u2019tis the season for backstabbing from the consultant-industrial complex. Usually, these folks express doom in October and privately throw in the towel so they can (1) avoid blame for a loss,\u00a0 and (2) position themselves for the next lucrative loss. But, hell now, in May? They are talking about how to remove Biden from the ticket. That never works for the consultant class.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>As for the Trump convictions, it comes at a time when the two candidates are at parity, so I expect him to drop a few points, especially among independents and suburban moms in the short term, giving Biden a small lead going into next week.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jed Babbin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Grade D-<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>President Joe Biden thinks he won the week simply by the expedient of former President Donald Trump having been convicted by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/New-York-City\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>New York City<\/a> jury. Biden said that \u201cno one is above the law.\u201d Really? Not even Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton or first son Hunter Biden?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>As Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) pointed out, Biden engaged in what is pretty clearly witness tampering in the coming Hunter trial, with his sudden visit to Hallie Biden \u2014 late son Beau\u2019s wife before she became Hunter\u2019s mistress \u2014 who is scheduled to testify in the trial of Hunter on violating gun laws. If Biden didn\u2019t try to persuade her to help clear Hunter, I\u2019ll eat my hat.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris said that the late <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/George-Floyd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>George Floyd<\/a>, who died in police custody four years ago on May 25, \u201cchanged the world.\u201d Alexander Graham Bell, the Wright Brothers, and Guglielmo Marconi changed the world. George Floyd\u2019s death won\u2019t be a footnote in the history books.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Inflation remains stubbornly high, and the Fed is talking about raising interest rates again to try to slow the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/euro-sterling-slip-to-month-low-on-renewed-growth-fears\/\" title=\"Euro, Sterling Slip to Month Low on Renewed Growth Fears\">overheated inflation<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In the rest of the world, Biden has given permission to Ukrainian forces to use U.S.-made weapons in strikes inside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Russia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Russia<\/a>, which only raises the risk of World War III. Ireland, Spain, and Norway recognized a \u201cPalestinian state\u201d with borders on the pre-1967 war lines and a joint Israeli-Palestinian \u201ccapital\u201d of Jerusalem.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Perhaps the worst thing Biden did this week was attempt to persuade Britain and France not to censure Iran at the June meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Biden is turning a blind eye to Iran\u2019s progress to nuclear weapons. Iran has enough enriched uranium to build about five nukes in weeks. And Biden is protecting Iran from even the mild nudge the IAEA could do. Biden\u2019s envoys are also trying to talk Iran out of more escalation in its wars against Israel and the rest of civilization.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And the perfect metaphor for the Biden administration is that its $320 million pier off the Gaza Strip totally failed. Almost all of the relief it passed into Gaza (which wasn\u2019t a significant amount anyway) was stolen by Hamas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/terrorism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>terrorists<\/a>. And then the pier broke apart in high winds. Joe hasn\u2019t said if he\u2019s going to rebuild it.
