Mike Lee supports Trump due to limited options\">targeting political adversaries<\/a> and undermining the rule of law.\u2064 However, Biden emphasized the importance of\u2064 respecting \u200bjudicial decisions, distancing his administration from Trump&#8217;s legal troubles. Senator Mike\u2064 Lee and a coalition of Republican senators pledged \u2064to impede\u2064 President Biden&#8217;s initiatives following\u200c Trump&#8217;s felony conviction. They alleged the White House of partisan\u200d targeting, jeopardizing legal integrity.\u2062 In contrast, Biden stressed upholding judicial outcomes and disassociating from Trump&#8217;s legal issues.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A conservative faction of Republican senators on Friday promised to place more hurdles in front of President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Joe Biden\">Joe Biden<\/a> and Democratic priorities as retribution for former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s criminal conviction.<\/p>\n<p>The vow came a day after Trump\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3018093\/trump-guilty-in-manhattan-hush-money-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"34-count felony conviction\">34-count felony conviction<\/a> by a jury in his New York hush money trial, which the GOP senators claimed was a result of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/white-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"White House\">White House<\/a> targeting a political opponent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe White House has made a mockery of the rule of law and fundamentally altered our politics in un-American ways,\u201d reads a joint letter, led by Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT). \u201cAs a Senate Republican conference, we are unwilling to aid and abet this White House in its project to tear this country apart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration was not involved in Trump\u2019s case. It was brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, a Democrat, and prosecuted by his office.<\/p>\n<p>In his first comments since the verdict, Biden on Friday blasted those who seek to dismiss the felony conviction as a result of politics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s reckless, it\u2019s dangerous, and it\u2019s irresponsible for anyone to say this was rigged just because they don\u2019t like the verdict,\u201d Biden said from the White House.<\/p>\n<p>While the conservative senators rarely, if ever, vote in favor of Biden nominees or in line with Democrats, any one member has the ability to grind the Senate\u2019s proceedings to a crawl in a chamber that largely runs procedurally on unanimous consent agreements. The warning is designed to be a rallying cry for other Republican senators to band together and act as a wall of opposition to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStrongly worded statements are not enough,\u201d Lee said. \u201cThose who turned our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sidney-powell-is-an-american-legal-giant\/\" title=\"Sidney Powell Is an American Legal Giant\">judicial system<\/a> into a political cudgel must be held accountable. We are no longer cooperating with any Democrat legislative priorities or nominations, and we invite all concerned senators to join our stand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The pledge was also signed by Sens. Rick Scott (R-FL), J.D. Vance (R-OH), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Eric Schmitt (R-MO), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Roger Marshall (R-KS), and Marco Rubio (R-FL).<\/p>\n<p>Vance and Rubio are considered Trump vice presidential contenders, and Scott is running to be Sen.
