Between [insert controversy]-gate and knuckleheads like Randy Moss (and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ex-florida-football-star-aaron-hernandez-teammate-charged-murder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aaron Hernandez<\/a>, though his issues went far beyond \u201cknucklehead\u201d), it\u2019s hard to imagine a more successful on-field run marred by off-field issues.<\/p>\n<p>Enter: the Kansas City Chiefs.<\/p>\n<p>Now in fairness to the Chiefs, they have neither eclipsed the Patriots\u2019 Super Bowl total during the dynasty years nor had issues nearly as horrific as what Hernandez was involved with.<\/p>\n<p>But <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tolerant-left-starts-change-org-petition-fire-conservative-kansas-city-chiefs-kicker-hits-110000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kansas City<\/a> is slowly starting to give New England a run for its money \u2014 in both categories.<\/p>\n<p>On the field, the Chiefs have won three of the last five Super Bowls and have a chance to make it three in a row this season. That\u2019s a feat not even the Patriots could pull off.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the good news.<\/p>\n<p>Off the field? The Chiefs haven\u2019t been involved in any cheating scandals, but there is mounting evidence that head coach Andy Reid might not run the tightest ship in the NFL.<\/p>\n<p>The latest example of an off-field Kansas City headache comes from journeyman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-nick-sabans-leaked-recruiting-call-goes-viral\/\" title=\"WATCH: Nick Saban\u2019s Leaked Recruiting Call Goes Viral\">defensive lineman<\/a> Isaiah Buggs.<\/p>\n<p>The 27-year-old turned himself in to authorities in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Thursday, over charges of animal cruelty, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbrc.com\/2024\/05\/30\/former-ua-player-chiefs-defensive-lineman-bonds-out-animal-cruelty-charges-tuscaloosa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WBRC-TV<\/a> in Birmingham.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Former UA player, Chiefs defensive lineman bonds out on animal cruelty charges in Tuscaloosa. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XLZnHDtNu6\">https:\/\/t.co\/XLZnHDtNu6<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/mJCDwyNVRC\">pic.twitter.com\/mJCDwyNVRC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 WBRC FOX6 News (@WBRCnews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WBRCnews\/status\/1796220239769719149?\">May 30, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the outlet, police allege Buggs \u2014 a sixth-round draft pick in 2019 out of the University of Alabama \u2014 left two dogs alone without food or water for several days.<\/p>\n<p>One of the dogs had to be euthanized.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIsaiah vehemently denies the truthfulness of the allegations and charges asserted against him today,\u201d Trey Robinson, Buggs\u2019 agent, said, per WBRC. \u201cUnder no circumstance does Mr. Buggs condone the mistreatment of any animal. The dogs at issue did not belong to him and he was unaware they remained at the property in question.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Curiously, Robinson implied that the charges against Buggs were part of a retaliatory conspiracy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurthermore, we believe the City of Tuscaloosa\u2019s decision to file the charges today is part of a concerted effort by the City of Tuscaloosa and its Police Department to besmirch Mr. Buggs\u2019 name and reputation as part of an ongoing subversive campaign to force the close of his local business Kings Hookah Lounge,\u201d the agent said.<\/p>\n<p>The Kings Hookah Lounge also appears to be at the center of other issues for the defensive lineman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuggs also has other pending cases against him in city court where he faces allegations of menacing, resisting arrest and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-warnock-directed-16-million-to-project-that-benefitted-church-that-still-pays-him\/\" title=\"Sen. Warnock Directed  Million to Project That Benefitted Church That Still Pays Him\">city code violations<\/a> at his hookah lounge in Tuscaloosa,\u201d WBRC reported.<\/p>\n<p>Compounding matters for Buggs, the outlet said he had a physical altercation with one of its reporters as he was leaving the Tuscaloosa County Jail after bonding out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWBRC Reporter Bryan Henry attempted to ask Buggs for a comment. Buggs put his hand on Bryan\u2019s camera and said \u2018Don\u2019t walk up in front of me,&#8217;\u201d the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>Video of the incident can be seen at the top of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbrc.com\/2024\/05\/30\/former-ua-player-chiefs-defensive-lineman-bonds-out-animal-cruelty-charges-tuscaloosa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WBRC article<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For the Chiefs, this has been the latest in a peculiar string of issues that have afflicted the team\u2019s rotation players (the franchise\u2019s stars, such as quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, have had a fairly ho-hum offseason that included <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-fans-leave-travis-kelce-stunned-viciously-boo-dallas-mavericks-game\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">attending<\/a> Dallas Mavericks games).<\/p>\n<p>Aside from Buggs, offensive linemen Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Jason Godrick were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/chiefs-ots-wanya-morris-chukwuebuka-godrick-arrested-on-marijuana-possession-charges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">both arrested<\/a> on May 16 on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-pardons-people-convicted-of-marijuana-possession\/\" title=\"Biden Pardons People Convicted of Marijuana Possession\">marijuana possession charges<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps more concerning for the team, however, are the legal woes of its nominal top receiver, the 24-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kansas-city-chiefs-star-wanted-police-four-people-left-injured\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rashee Rice<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/sports\/chiefs-embattled-receiver-rashee-rice-participating-offseason-program-amid-legal-issues\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a> chronicled, the talented sophomore has a number of legal issues hanging over his head, including aggravated assault and multiple charges resulting from a high-speed car crash.<\/p>\n<p>Many expect Rice to face some sort of punishment and possibly be suspended for part of the season.<\/p>\n<p>As the Chiefs navigate myriad player legal issues, the team is preparing to take the field again soon.<\/p>\n<p>The defending Super Bowl champs will kick off the NFL\u2019s regular season at home against the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 5.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>\u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d Those 12 words have been stuck in my head since I first read them. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Former Lt.
