Warning signs indicate possible repercussions for Democrats, as \u2063noted by prominent commentators and the impending consequences of this politically charged conviction.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/commentary\/\">  Commentary <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/aanton\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/aanton\/%20\"><span>Allison Anton<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 31, 2024 at 12:23pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>Suffice to say, the guilty verdict against former President Donald Trump has set the internet on fire.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats and liberals wasted no time gloating about Trump getting labeled a \u201cconvicted felon,\u201d while Republicans and conservatives have blasted the whole circus as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hillary-clinton-wants-trump-americans-called-out-for-providing-aid-and-comfort-to-putin\/\" title=\"Hillary Clinton Wants Trump, Americans \u201cCalled Out\u201d for \u201cProviding Aid and Comfort to Putin\">blatant election interference<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, between the insufferable gloating on one side, and the righteous fury on the other, many politicians and political commentators have issued some dire warnings to the Democratic party over this nakedly political conviction.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-rfk-jr-agree-peoples-town-hall-biden-will-missing-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a> took to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-new-acting-attorney-general-jeff-rosen-recently-wrote-an-essay-on-foreign-influence-in-us-elections-this-tells-us-a-little-about-his-knowledge-of-whats-going-on-today\/\" title=\"The New Acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen Recently Wrote an Essay on Foreign Influence in US Elections \u2013 This Tells Us A Little About His Knowledge of What\u2019s Going On Today\">social media platform<\/a> X to predict that the verdict might \u201cbackfire\u201d spectacularly on the Democrats, since most could see how flimsy the case was at the start. Trump\u2019s campaign garnered a record-setting amount of donations in a single day as many voters became Trump supporters almost instantly.<\/p>\n<p>Former Fox News host and political commentator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-megyn-kelly-savagely-fact-checks-bill-maher-twice-sets-straight-trump-jan-6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Megyn Kelly<\/a>, however, issued a warning on her show to the Democrats that the Washington elite would do well to take seriously.<\/p>\n<p> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7FJznXgDfss?si=Z2JhFhjTrRaaXNIL\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>She began the show declaring \u201cthe country\u2019s been disgraced,\u201d a sentiment many now share, comparing the machinations behind the trial to a \u201cbanana republic,\u201d and saying that \u201cthe idea all along was to stop him from becoming president again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kelly, however, didn\u2019t waste too much time lamenting the sham trial.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, she quickly pivoted to warning Democrats of the legislative Pandora\u2019s box they opened with this whole debacle.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Should the right start by prosecuting Joe Biden?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The whole scheme, she said, \u201cis corrupt. It\u2019s a before-and-after moment for America. What just happened today is a line we can\u2019t uncross. And these Democrats will rue the day they decided to use lawfare to stop a presidential candidate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many on the right have said this regret will come in the form of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-warned-buckle-end-trial-gives-trump-immediate-advantage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> winning the election, thanks to the Democrats\u2019 transparent attempts to get him out of the running, but Kelly had something else in mind.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not talking about violence,\u201d she clarified, \u201cI\u2019m talking about tit for tat. You just wait, and it won\u2019t be Hunter Biden the next time. It\u2019s going to be Joe Biden, it could potentially still be Barack Obama, it could still potentially be Hillary Clinton. We\u2019re going to have to look at what the statutes of limitations are on the various crimes they surely committed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to have to look,\u201d Kelly continued, \u201cat passing laws to revive those dead crimes, felonies or misdemeanors, so that those cases can be brought out of time. That\u2019s what may be in the interests of justice, just like they did for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ny-jury-issue-damages-verdict-trump-e-jean-carroll-defamation-suit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">E. Jean Carroll<\/a>, with the New York state law that was passed so that she could sue him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kelly concluded by warning Democrats that \u201cTurnabout is fair play.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Indeed it is.<\/p>\n<p>Many on the right have recommended similar tactics against Democrats in the event Trump wins in November.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/matt-walsh-exposes-transgender-cares-biggest-scam-cover-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matt Walsh<\/a> wrote on X that \u201cThe only thing I want to hear from these people [Republican politicians] is which Democrats they will have arrested,\u201d and <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1796440638617244012\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elon Musk<\/a> likewise said, \u201cIf a former President can be criminally convicted over such a trivial matter \u2014 motivated by politics, rather than justice \u2014 then anyone is at risk of a similar fate.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I don\u2019t want to hear elected Republicans complaining. I don\u2019t need to see their tweets and statements condemning the verdict. The only thing I want to hear from these people is which Democrats they will have arrested. Don\u2019t tell us that you\u2019re sad about the verdict. We don\u2019t give\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattWalshBlog\/status\/1796520367365718281?\">May 31, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Indeed, great damage was done today to the public\u2019s faith in the American legal system.<\/p>\n<p>If a former President can be criminally convicted over such a trivial matter \u2013 motivated by politics, rather than justice \u2013 then anyone is at risk of a similar fate. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zrHCyIZazh\">https:\/\/t.co\/zrHCyIZazh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1796440638617244012?\">May 31, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At most, Trump was guilty of incorrectly classifying the \u201chush-money\u201d payments to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cnn-legal-analyst-stunned-stormy-daniels-disastrous-courtroom-admission-big-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stormy Daniels<\/a>  and others, while Biden and his old friends have been credibly accused of influence peddling, spying on Trump\u2019s campaign and sexual assault.<\/p>\n<p>If this nothing-burger of an offense could go to trial and result in a felony conviction simply because the defendant was named Donald Trump, imagine what could happen to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hillary-clinton-campaign-dnc-committed-crime-trump-prosecuted-bragg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hillary Clinton<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-priceless-look-hurs-face-finally-admits-biden-lied\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a> if Republicans pursued similarly enthusiastic legal action against them.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, as <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/31\/trump-verdict-is-indictment-of-gop-leaders-who-cant-be-bothered-to-resist-republic-wrecking-lawfare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Federalist<\/a> noted, Republicans in Washington have been far too timid in thwarting the Democrats\u2019 lawfare plans, as well as bringing charges against politicians, even though there have been plenty of opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>However, considering the shock and anger engendered by this ridiculous verdict in this sham trial, maybe it might be enough for Republicans to actually do something, at least if Trump regains the office of president.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrats have set the precedent of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-says-nobody-knows-crime-jury-asks-rehear-testimony\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">convicting political opponents<\/a>, including former presidents and presidential candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly was absolutely right \u2014 the Democrats have opened the floodgates, and if the Republicans take advantage of this chance, the Democrats will have no one to blame but themselves.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
