RFK Jr. \u2063warns that the verdict may backfire, stirring controversy and impacting the upcoming election.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/aanton\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/aanton\/%20\"><span>Allison Anton<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 31, 2024 at 12:43pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>The guilty verdict levied Thursday against Donald Trump might just end up embodying the purest incarnation of a Pyrrhic victory for the Democratic party.<\/p>\n<p>While Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the rest of the anti-Trump Democrats might have won in the short-term, the obvious flaws in the trial, the clear bias of the judge, and the lack of a clear crime have already begun backfiring on the Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>With Trump\u2019s campaign website crashing mere hours after the verdict, raising <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-campaign-announces-record-shattering-fundraising-haul-following-verdict-nearly-double-biggest-day-ever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$34.8 million<\/a> in less than a day, and many on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-new-acting-attorney-general-jeff-rosen-recently-wrote-an-essay-on-foreign-influence-in-us-elections-this-tells-us-a-little-about-his-knowledge-of-whats-going-on-today\/\" title=\"The New Acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen Recently Wrote an Essay on Foreign Influence in US Elections \u2013 This Tells Us A Little About His Knowledge of What\u2019s Going On Today\">social media platform<\/a> X stating the verdict , suffice to say the aftermath has not gone as anticipated.<\/p>\n<p>And now, independent candidate and lifelong Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has appeared on Fox News to provide his own take on the Trump guilty verdict \u2014 and Never Trumpers are not going to like it.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with Fox News host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-jesse-watters-absolutely-dismantles-32-year-old-furry-wanting-children-conventions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jesse Watters<\/a>, RFK Jr. expressed his belief that this verdict will, undoubtedly, \u201cbackfire\u201d on the Democrats.<\/p>\n<p> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"RFK Jr.: Trump conviction is 'going to backfire on the Democrats'\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EDMQV4_AAVE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat do you think happened there in Lower Manhattan tonight?\u201d Watters asked Kennedy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think\u2026 this conviction is going to backfire on the Democrats,\u201d Kennedy bluntly said. \u201cI think every time that President Trump has been indicted, that his approval ratings actually increase, his popularity increases.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy then added \u201cthere\u2019s a large number of Americans who are going to see this as the politicization of, a weaponization of the enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Is RFK Jr. right about this?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cAnd I think it\u2019s bad for our democracy, I think the DNC feels like it has a candidate that cannot win fair and square in the polls, and so they have to win in the courts,\u201d Kennedy elaborated.<\/p>\n<p>While no one could or should ever mistake <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-rfk-jr-says-full-term-abortions-allowed-doesnt-want-leave-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RFK Jr.<\/a> for a conservative, he has been in politics a long time, and came from the immensely political Kennedy family. At the very least, it gives him a baseline understanding of how most things work in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>That Kennedy has agreed with Republicans and conservatives about how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-warned-buckle-end-trial-gives-trump-immediate-advantage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">laughably awful<\/a> this case was, and how much it could turn public opinion against the Democrats, lends credence to that initial impression.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy didn\u2019t stop there, however.<\/p>\n<p>He continued, saying that he\u2019s \u201cnot a fan of President Trump\u2019s, but I want to win, I want to beat him in a campaign, on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/brexit-trade-deal-published-as-uk-calls-for-end-to-ugly-divisions\/\" title=\"Brexit trade deal published as UK calls for end to \u2018ugly\u2019 divisions\">level playing field<\/a>,\u201d before listing the many \u201cissues\u201d Trump has that he would have wanted to discuss.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want to beat him in a courtroom,\u201d\u00a0 Kennedy reiterated, \u201cI think it\u2019s not good for our country, and I think it\u2019s really going to backfire on the Democrats.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When speaking to Fox, Kennedy was repeating an opinion that had already been vocally expressed across the world. In short, everyone knows that the jury\u2019s verdict was \u201cprofoundly undemocratic,\u201d and Kennedy doubled down on that sentiment on X, posting that \u201cYou can\u2019t save democracy by destroying it first.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The Democratic Party\u2019s strategy is to beat President Trump in the courtroom rather than the ballot box. This will backfire in November. Even worse, it is profoundly undemocratic.<\/p>\n<p>America deserves a President who can win at the ballot box without compromising our government\u2019s\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Robert F. Kennedy Jr (@RobertKennedyJr) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RobertKennedyJr\/status\/1796320918156841339?\">May 30, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Considering how much heat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-attempt-cash-minutes-trumps-guilty-verdict-backfires\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden<\/a> got from posting a donation link to his X account mere minutes after The New York Times announced the verdict, it seems safe to say that Kennedy\u2019s prognostication is right on the money.<\/p>\n<p>Again, it\u2019s still too early to tell how this verdict will effect the upcoming election, but with the outpouring of support Trump has already received, it certainly hasn\u2019t had the short term effect that the Democrats had hoped for.<\/p>\n<p>Has this verdict clinched the election for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tech-mogul-stuns-6-figure-trump-donation-guilty-verdict-lose-friends\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a fool\u2019s errand to predict a November election in May \u2014 but, as of right now, the guilty verdict has done nothing but help the former president.<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rfk-jr-doubles-brain-worm-diagnosis-offers-eat-six-worm-handicap-debates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RFK Jr<\/a>. expressing much of these same sentiments, even though there is no love lost between him and Trump, only makes that possibility seem all the more likely.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
