Macy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  discussed some criticisms he had for the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/entertainment\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">entertainment<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  industry during a podcast interview that aired this week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The 74-year-old \u201cShameless\u201d star was a guest on \u201cFilms to Be Buried With Brett Goldstein\u201d when he answered the host\u2019s question about the \u201cworst\u201d film he\u2019d ever seen, which led to conversations about other topics, per <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/william-h-macy-doesnt-like-violence-films-1235912076\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOh, boy. I rarely get through them,\u201d Macy said of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/movies\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">movies<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  as a whole. \u201cI think at the end of the day, one thing any story has to be is true. It\u2019s got to be true to the human experience. And I think the test is if you put it out there and a couple of million people see it, that most of them recognize the issue and it moves them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The actor went on to discuss how he\u2019s especially offended by unrealistic movies and by excessive violence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI guess the most obvious example \u2014 and I can see the will to live just fade from people when I get on this kick \u2014 but I think Hollywood is doing a lot of damage to the world with our portrayal of violence,\u201d Macy continued. \u201cIt\u2019s not true, and it\u2019s not a good place to be lying when it comes to our portrayal of violence.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Oscar-nominated star went on to explain how he asked for a reduction in violence on the set of a Western he was working on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhen I first started off, there were nine bodies on page four, and I lobbied for us to go back to the real West and not to Westerns,\u201d the actor said. \u201cDon\u2019t imitate films.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Macy used the reasoning that only a few men died at the infamous showdown at the O.K. Corral.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The \u201cFargo\u201d star also shared his idea for a television drama.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI wanna do a thing where, you take three episodes to have you fall in love with one of the major characters and then shoot him,\u201d he told the podcast host. \u201cBut don\u2019t write him off the show. And every week, you can see what a bullet does to a human body. You can see how it wrecks his marriage. You can see how he gets infections. You can see how he has to learn to walk again or use his hands again. You can see the deep, dark depressions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cLet\u2019s tell the truth about it, because I swear to God, you kill one person, there\u2019s nothing more dramatic than that. You kill 18 people, it\u2019s just porn.
