Non-compliance may result\u2064 in repercussions, \u200bemphasizing the importance of adhering to\u200c fundraising guidelines.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Donald-Trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump\u2019s<\/a> name carries mountainous weight in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/election-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>2024 iteration<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/republican\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Republican<\/a> Party.<\/p>\n<p>Republican candidates are well aware, and have used it to their advantage in the past to fundraise, though Trump\u2019s campaign usually requests a piece of the proceeds if they allow candidates down the ballot to use it at all.<\/p>\n<p>In the aftermath of Trump\u2019s felony convictions in New York, his campaign told Republicans to avoid fundraising solely for themselves using the trial as fuel for donors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny Republican elected official, candidate or party committee siphoning money from President Trump\u2019s donors are no better than Judge Merchan\u2019s daughter,\u201d Trump co-campaign manager Chris LaCivita <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2024\/05\/30\/trump-hush-money-criminal-trial\/trumps-warning-00160930\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a>, referring to Loren Merchan, who Republicans have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vance.senate.gov\/press-releases\/senator-vance-calls-for-criminal-investigation-into-judge-merchan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a> has used the Trump trial to fundraise for Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>LaCivita says the Trump campaign is not currently in a giving mood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re keeping a list, we\u2019ll be checking it twice and we aren\u2019t in the spirit of Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At least one Republican candidate has attempted to fundraise without seemingly offering Trump anything in return. Colorado Republican Party Chairman Dave Williams, who is running in Colorado\u2019s 5th Congressional District, has sent a fundraising email mentioning the trial that <a href=\"https:\/\/mailchi.mp\/fec7f5285c22\/riggedguiltyverdict?e=7c4761bd0e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>links<\/a> directly to his own campaign contributions form.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> contacted the Trump and Williams campaigns but did not receive a response.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/f\/?id=0000018e-ed56-dff0-a7de-fd7e8f970000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>asked<\/a> candidates in the past to split at least 5% of the proceeds from fundraising that uses Trump\u2019s name, image, or likeness, with splits higher than 5% \u201cseen favorably by the RNC and President Trump\u2019s campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They also asked for those using Trump in fundraising emails to avoid certain \u201clanguage and tactics\u201d such as speaking on behalf of Trump. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny vendor whose clients ignore the guidelines mentioned above will be held responsible for<br \/>their clients\u2019 actions,\u201d Trump campaign officials Susie Wiles and LaCivita said. \u201cRepeated violations will result in the suspension of business relationships between the vendor<br \/>and Trump National Committee JFC. This includes list rental agreements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before that, the campaign sent an email to the GOP\u2019s House fundraising arm warning them to avoid using consulting firms to fundraise off Trump without his consent. However, Trump beat him in the month of April.
