They reviewed call logs, text messages and emails. They heard recordings, they saw checks and invoices, bank statements, and calendar appointments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said that this type of case was the \u201ccore\u201d of what his office does, even though numerous legal critics have said that typically his office would not prosecute this case and made an exception to do so because he was targeting Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the 1930s, District Attorney Thomas Dewey, ushered in the era of the modern, independent, professional prosecutor,\u201d he claimed. \u201cFor now nearly 90 years, dedicated professionals in his office have built upon that fine tradition.
