Thomas Massie of Kentucky noted, there was no \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-issues-injunction-blocking-several-directives-from-l-a-countys-new-controversial-d-a\/\" title=\"Judge Issues Injunction Blocking Several Directives From L.A. County\u2019s New Controversial D.A.\">underlying crime<\/a>\u201d laid out by the prosecution.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Guilty on 34 counts, but no underlying crime. Partisan hacks serving as judges, investigators, and prosecutors have turned our legal system into a farce at both the state and federal level. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/It2tcRHpxG\">pic.twitter.com\/It2tcRHpxG<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Thomas Massie (@RepThomasMassie) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepThomasMassie\/status\/1796290864819360051?\">May 30, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/4694696-trump-to-be-sentenced-just-four-days-before-gop-convention\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>, Judge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-juan-merchan-hit-official-ethics-complaint-accused-judicial-misconduct\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Juan Merchan<\/a> has scheduled Trump\u2019s sentencing hearing for July 11.<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 convention is slated to begin in Milwaukee on July 15 and will wrap up on July 18.<\/p>\n<p>Trump ran away with the primary quickly earlier this year and barring something unforeseen, he will be nominated.<\/p>\n<p>What <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/republican-convention-viewership-dwarfs-dnc-viewership-first-available-metric\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the convention<\/a> might look like now is up in the air.<\/p>\n<p>Not only had a former president never been tried in criminal court before Bragg used his office to go after Trump, but Merchan could very well put Trump behind bars.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Secret Service, which is tasked with guarding Trump for the remainder of his life, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/secret-service-meets-new-york-jail-officials-trump-trial-draws-close-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">had already been in talks<\/a> with officials in New York over the possibility Trump could be remanded to a jail cell.<\/p>\n<p>Merchan could also place Trump under house arrest and sentence him to probation.<\/p>\n<p>Trump reacted to Thursday\u2019s conviction with fury, describing the jury\u2019s decision and Bragg\u2019s case against him as a \u201cdisgrace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA RIGGED TRIAL BY A CONFLICTED JUDGE WHO IS CORRUPT. WE WILL FIGHT FOR OUR CONSTITUTION\u2014THIS IS LONG FROM OVER!\u201d he wrote on social media.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate post, Trump commented that the American people will decide his fate on election day in November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe real verdict will be on November 5th by THE PEOPLE\u2014they know what happened here,\u201d he posted online.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/112532453963389112\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> he will be holding a news conference on Friday at 11 a.m. ET from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/something-incredible-happened-outside-trump-tower-aftermath-mug-shot-release\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump Tower<\/a> in Manhattan.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>We who work here at The Western Journal have fought for years against Big Tech and the elites who want to shut us down and then shut America down. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Make no mistake \u2014 nothing will be the same after November 2024.
