The latest on the developing story: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/IUA5EZhrrd\">https:\/\/t.co\/IUA5EZhrrd<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3TvkdnimS1\">pic.twitter.com\/3TvkdnimS1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Fox News (@FoxNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FoxNews\/status\/1796285403000975704?\">May 30, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Trump is expected to immediately appeal the verdict, with his attorneys citing multiple issues concerning rulings Merchan made that they argued unfairly prejudiced the trial.<\/p>\n<p>One was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fec-expert-witness-whose-testimony-denied-merchan-reveals-said-trump-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">denying<\/a> testimony from former Federal Election Commission Chairman Bradley Smith, who said he would have testified that the payments to Daniels did not qualify as campaign expenses or donations.<\/p>\n<p>Another decision legal experts have honed in on was Merchan\u2019s instructions to the jury that they did not have to agree on what crime Trump committed in relation to allegedly falsifying business records.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has consistently asserted his innocence.<\/p>\n<p>Following the verdict Trump told reporters, \u201cThis was a disgrace.
