Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, made the request in a <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/2024.05.29-Letter-to-Fauci-Re.-Gmail.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> to Fauci on Wednesday ahead of the former government health official\u2019s planned testimony next week.<\/p>\n<p>Emails show Dr. David Morens, Fauci\u2019s former senior adviser, discussed a \u201c\u2018secret\u2019 back channel\u201d and suggested that Fauci used a private account to get around Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is too smart to let colleagues send him stuff that could cause trouble,\u201d Morens said in one April 2021 email obtained by the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Morens testified to the subcommittee last week that he \u201cmay have\u201d sent information related to COVID-19 to Fauci\u2019s personal email.<\/p>\n<p>Wenstrup said his panel wants access to documents from Fauci\u2019s personal email accounts, cell phones, or other electronic devices that would be responsive to his request by June 12.<\/p>\n<p>The records being requested regard the Wuhan Institute of Virology, EcoHealth Alliance, Inc., the origins of COVID-19, or congressional oversight of these issues between January 1, 2020 and the present.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/wenstrup-requests-access-to-dr-faucis-personal-email-and-cellphone-investigates-secret-back-channel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a> from the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic said the panel held Morens \u201cpublicly accountable\u201d for a number of alleged infractions when he testified last week.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1717170739895000&#038;usg=AOvVaw1Ps3XbgPF2rL6bDpL8t5Cu\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>They included \u201cundermining the operations of the U.S. government, likely lying to Congress on multiple occasions, deleting federal COVID-19 records, and using his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/january-6-committee-ex-trump-chief-of-staff-battle-over-personal-communications\/\" title=\"January 6 Committee, Ex-Trump Chief Of Staff Battle Over Personal Communications\">personal email account<\/a> to evade FOIA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The press release also said the panel is \u201cconcerned that Dr. Fauci had knowledge of his Senior Advisor\u2019s nefarious behavior and potentially engaged in the misconduct himself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fauci, a longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-fauci-announces-the-us-will-rejoin-the-world-health-organization-promises-to-give-them-our-money\/\" title=\"WATCH: Fauci Announces the US Will Rejoin the World Health Organization, Promises to Give Them Our Money\">chief medical adviser<\/a> to President Joe Biden, is <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/hearing-advisory-dr-anthony-fauci-to-testify-on-june-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scheduled<\/a> to appear before the subcommittee on Monday, June 3.<\/p>\n<p>Topics that will likely come up include gain-of-function research\u00a0and EcoHealth <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/hhs-moves-to-defund-ecohealth-alliance-says-action-needed-to-protect-the-public-interest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recently getting cut off<\/a> from taxpayer funds amid scrutiny of its support of coronavirus research at the lab in Wuhan from where COVID-19 is suspected to have leaked.<\/p>\n<p>Americans will have a chance to hear from Fauci about \u201chis role in overseeing our nation\u2019s pandemic response, shaping pandemic-era polices, and promoting singular, questionable narratives about the origins of COVID-19,\u201d Wenstrup <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/hearing-advisory-dr-anthony-fauci-to-testify-on-june-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Republican-led House panel is requesting Dr. Anthony Fauci&#8217;s personal email and phone records for an investigation into COVID-19 origins.
