The event is seen as a challenge to the\u2062 community&#8217;s traditional values. La Nouvelle Vend\u00e9e plans to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-supporters-rally-in-minn-to-stop-the-steal\/\" title=\"Trump supporters rally in Minn. to \u2018Stop the Steal\u2019\">counter-protest<\/a> by \u2062standing along the parade route and\u200b praying the \u2062Rosary. Their demonstration offers a peaceful template\u200c for Christian communities nationwide.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>The small Catholic city of Mandeville, Louisiana, will be hosting its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queernorthshore.org\/calendar\/northshore-pride-parade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">first-ever \u201cpride\u201d parade<\/a> on June 1, and a group of men in the community is rising up to peacefully dissent. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/l-a-sheriff-says-drug-cartels-took-over-large-tracts-of-the-desert-during-pandemic-to-grow-illegal-pot\/\" title=\"L.A. Sheriff Says Drug Cartels Took Over Large Tracts Of The Desert During Pandemic To Grow Illegal Pot\">local farmer<\/a> and father of five Ross McKnight, \u201c[The pride parade] seems to be an offensive maneuver on a location known for its family-friendly environment, its plentiful church parishes, and its selection of schools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A group called \u201cQueer Northshore\u201d is orchestrating the event. The group was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queernorthshore.org\/about-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">co-founded<\/a> in 2022 by Jeremy JF Thompson, who, according to his public Facebook profile, appears to be a Los Angeles transplant to the area.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1986816503\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c1fe9e80ff71cb8e7e56026b20f36565 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c1fe9e80ff71cb8e7e56026b20f36565\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWhile a display such as this would perhaps not be so surprising in New Orleans, Chicago, Austin, or Los Angeles, the objective here appears to be the infiltration of a community with traditional, Catholic values,\u201d stated McKnight.<\/p>\n<p>McKnight is the co-founder of<a href=\"https:\/\/newvendee.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> La Nouvelle Vend\u00e9e<\/a>, a Catholic men\u2019s group aimed at \u201cResist[ing] Secularism,\u201d reclaiming Louisiana\u2019s Acadian Catholic culture, and \u201cRestor[ing] Christendom in Louisiana.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>La Nouvelle Vend\u00e9e members plan to combat the \u201cpride\u201d infiltration of their community by standing, \u201cshoulder to shoulder along the [parade route],\u201d reads a description of the counter-protest. The men also intend to pray the Rosary as a public act of reparation in response to what McKnight describes as a \u201cpublic offense against God.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will not respond to antagonism, but suffer the lash as did the King of all mankind \u2014 with humility and fortitude,\u201d continued the call to action. \u201cIn the eventuality that one of our men is under threat of deadly violence, we will respond appropriately, but otherwise we will stand stone-faced and immovable in the face of insults and indignities.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-76d9fdba9d4f76179c148d03cb811557 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-76d9fdba9d4f76179c148d03cb811557\"><\/div>\n<p>The description also notes that the \u201cMinimum dress code\u201d includes a \u201cCollared shirt, tucked in,\u201d \u201cPants,\u201d and \u201cIdeally: A Vend\u00e9e-type Sacred Heart patch on the left breast.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Shortly before La Nouvelle Vend\u00e9e\u2019s demonstration, other local Catholics plan to make reparation for the \u201cpride\u201d parade by attending eucharistic adoration at Our Lady of the Lake, a local Catholic Church. After the demonstration, McKnight plans to host a potluck for everyone.  <\/p>\n<p>As \u201cpride\u201d events have become more ubiquitous and targeted at children, they have also become increasingly pushed on small, family-oriented cities and towns. La Nouvelle Vend\u00e9e offers a template for how Christian communities across the country can peacefully protest. <\/p>\n<p>McKnight\u2019s primary advice for those who wish to emulate La Nouvelle Vend\u00e9e\u2019s demonstration is to \u201cpray for courage.\u201d McKnight admits that those who stand against the LGBT movement can expect to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-not-considering-boycotting-beijing-olympics-despite-china-issues-after-supporting-mlb-boycott\/\" title=\"Biden Not Considering Boycotting Beijing Olympics, Despite China Issues, After Supporting MLB Boycott\">face intense backlash<\/a> that may be damaging both personally and professionally. \u201cChrist was willing to take on sin itself and be seen as a vile criminal, even,\u201d said McKnight. \u201cAnd so I think we all should be willing to be reviled for the sake of Christ.\u201d <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-92d16c7a418f057eb644aa99984a2c57 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-92d16c7a418f057eb644aa99984a2c57\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cYou should take courage and comfort in that particular moment where you are hated by all,\u201d added McKnight, because \u201cyou are walking that same path to Calvary.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>McKnight is no stranger to suffering for his faith. Last year, he <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/09\/pride-month-zealots-launch-economic-warfare-on-homesteading-catholic-family\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">almost lost his Foie Gras farm<\/a> when New Orleans restaurants canceled their business with him after he made an Instagram post commemorating the Sacred Heart of Jesus and encouraging his followers to counter \u201cpride\u201d month or, as McKnight called it, the \u201cattempted coup of the month of June.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>In the Catholic Church, June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a tradition originating from the 17th-century visions of Christ received by French nun St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. The LGBT movement\u2019s hijacking of June is especially offensive to McKnight as a Louisiana Catholic of French descent.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is an honor to participate, through the suffering of our family, in the triumph of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary,\u201d McKnight wrote at the time. \u201c\u2018If the world hate you, know ye, that it hath hated me before you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since then, McKnight has not stopped fighting for a restoration of Christendom. \u201cAt the center of all of this is beauty,\u201d McKnight said of La Nouvelle Vend\u00e9e. \u201cAnd that\u2019s what we\u2019re pursuing.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Louisianan men who make up La Nouvelle Vend\u00e9e say their organization is inspired by the Holy Martyrs of the Vend\u00e9e. Vend\u00e9e is a western region in France where Catholics rose up in 1793 in opposition to the so-called French \u201crepublic\u201d following the bloody French Revolution. <\/p>\n<p>The new Republican French government launched a de-Christianization campaign following the revolution. The \u201cgod of Reason\u201d was enthroned in the cathedral of Paris, religious holidays were replaced with secular ones, and Catholic Mass was forced to be said in secret until, eventually, Republican authorities began executing priests en masse. <\/p>\n<p>As Sr. Elvira Garro <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homeofthemother.org\/en\/magazine\/selected-articles\/saints\/9860-martyrs-of-the-vend%C3%A9e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">explains<\/a> in H.M. Magazine:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>In the face of the Republican cannons, these poor people had only their staffs. In the face of guns, they had only their sickles! They had no military uniform, but they did have something which united them together: the emblem of the Sacred Heart embroidered in red on their chest, and on their caps, the initials of Jesus Christ the King.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A reported 200,000 men, women, and children were victims of the terror. Republican General Westermann, who was in charge of the assault, recounted drowning women in the river and roasting children in bread ovens. <\/p>\n<p>With keen knowledge of their Acadian Catholic history and heritage, McKnight and his fellow La Nouvelle Vend\u00e9e companions understand the stakes. Like the Holy Martyrs of the Vend\u00e9e, they know some things are worth fighting for.
