The plaintiff described her sister as a \u201cparty girl\u201d who agreed to come help, but then decided to \u201cparty every day\u201d instead. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cShe agreed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-utah-law-requires-biological-dads-to-pay-pregnancy-support\/\" title=\"New Utah Law Requires Biological Dads To Pay Pregnancy Support\">pay half<\/a> the rent, however, she did not do that,\u201d Cobbs said of her sister. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The plaintiff went on to accuse Paige of breaking her promise and also breaking her air mattress. Judge Walsh asked how long Paige was sleeping on the air mattress, and Cobbs said it was about two months. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The judge said that was an important detail. \u201cThat\u2019s a long time to be on an air mattress,\u201d Walsh observed. \u201cDoesn\u2019t every air mattress break after it\u2019s been used three times?\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He then recalled the tragic tale of visiting a friend and being forced to sleep on an air mattress, which deflated around him in the middle of the night. \u201cI could have suffocated,\u201d Judge Walsh said. \u201cI was tangled up in it, crying for help.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The bailiff was next tasked with reading the lengthy text exchange between the two sisters. Cobbs said she was suing her sister for three months of rent and for a replacement air mattress.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Next, it was defendant Paige Lacy\u2019s turn to tell her side of the story in what the judge describes as a \u201cclassic mooching case.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lacy said she had just finished college and was a schoolteacher when she moved to Texas to help her sister with the kids, not watch them full-time. As for the partying, the defendant said she didn\u2019t go out every night, but did party \u201cevery other weekend\u201d because she\u2019s \u201cfun.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cShe\u2019s just mad because she\u2019s lame,\u201d Lacy said of her sister.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The defendant said she did help with her sister\u2019s kids frequently but not all the time, mentioning that the kids were \u201cbad.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Finally, it was time for Judge Walsh to deliberate. \u201cWe\u2019ve all sat here for what feels like four and a half hours listening to this tale and at the end of it, I have absolutely no idea who was wrong and who was right,\u201d the judge begins before handing down a verdict perfectly fitting the situation. Tune in to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/episode\/episode-9-bickering-sisters-and-magic-tricksters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">episode 9<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  to find out the result. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Next, Judge Walsh was presented with a case involving a magician\u2019s code of conduct. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Plaintiff Jason Michaels, a self-described professional magician, began by performing a card trick for the courtroom. He took an assortment of playing cards, showed they had random numbers, then blew on them to reveal they spelled out the name of the show, JUDGED.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThat\u2019s pretty impressive,\u201d Walsh said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Michaels explained how he came up with his own magic trick and published it for a profit \u201cafter a couple of years of honing it and perfecting it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWould you say that you turn tricks for a living?\u201d Judge Walsh asked.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cYou would say that, yes,\u201d the plaintiff replied while laughing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Michaels said he was performing for a client alongside the defendant, whom he hired to be in the show. That\u2019s when the defendant Mark Brown decided to perform the trick that Michaels previously sold. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Judge Walsh asked what the problem was since technically Michaels sold him the trick \u201cfair and square.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThere\u2019s an unwritten rule in the magic community that if several magicians are performing in the same show, if you have the creator of the trick on the show, and then you have someone else on the show who has purchased the trick, the general practice is that the person who purchased the trick will defer to the person who created the trick,\u201d the plaintiff explained. \u201cBecause that person wouldn\u2019t have said trick without the creators.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The plaintiff explained how he was suing Brown for the $1,000 he paid a videographer to document the show.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Next, the defendant had a chance to tell his side of the story, explaining how he purchased and performed the trick but changed the premise enough to make it his own. He said he was not aware of the magician\u2019s code of conduct prior to doing the trick.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brown said it was a different trick with a different premise and ending, but simply used the same props. Judge Walsh allowed both magicians to demonstrate the trick in question. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The plaintiff proceeded to do a card trick using an oversized folded \u201ccootie catcher\u201d which narrowed down the judge\u2019s playing card choice. For his turn, he wrote down a variety of different foods in a notebook and started flipping through them. Judge Walsh flipped open the notebook to the word \u201cbanana,\u201d which he was not pleased about.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brown then used the same style of oversized cootie catcher and started asking questions to determine which food it was. He correctly identified the selected food as a banana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It was finally time for the judge to deliberate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cMr. Brown, you have come before this courtroom accused of breaking one of the unwritten rules of magician hood. This is a serious charge. The magician code of conduct is deeply important to each magician. It\u2019s all he has because he doesn\u2019t have friends or a social life.
