Alongside Schoen, strategist David Axelrod cautions against maintaining the current \u2063strategy, urging readiness for a\u200b potential Republican triumph if adjustments are not\u200d made.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Top Democratic strategist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2826623\/bill-clinton-adviser-risks-biden-reelection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Doug Schoen<\/a> is urging the Biden campaign to adjust course, warning that the \u201cuniquely tone-deaf\u201d White House\u2019s failure to listen to lucrative political insiders could <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/are-covid-case-surges-more-fake-news\/\" title=\"Are COVID Case Surges More Fake News?\">cost<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a> the presidency. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe White House is uniquely tone deaf and not listening to not only me but two Democratic insiders who\u2019ve been in past campaigns, who\u2019ve been successful with the Obama administration, the Clinton administration,\u201d the former Clinton adviser <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/democratic-strategist-alarmed-biden-harris-freeze-advisers-working?intcmp=tw_fnc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said during a<\/a> <em>Fox &#038; Friends<\/em> interview on Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cThere\u2019s a near-total freeze out on outside advice to the detriment of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Schoen joins the ranks of other Democratic strategists, including former Obama adviser David Axelrod, who are cautioning Democrats to prepare for a Republican victory in November should Biden fail to change his strategy. <\/p>\n<p>In early May, Axelrod had strong words for Biden, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3019759\/obama-strategist-constant-problem-biden\/#:~:text=During%20a%20recent%20interview%2C%20David,a%20win%20for%20the%20people.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>saying<\/a> Biden\u2019s refusal to acknowledge that voters are viewing the economy through \u201cthe lens of the cost of living\u201d is \u201ca terrible mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>President Joe Biden walks to Marine One for departure from the South Lawn of the White House, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in Washington. (AP Photo\/Alex Brandon)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cHis desire to claim credit [for the economy] is a huge obstacle to connecting with voters on this issue,\u201d Axelrod said on May 8, referencing Biden\u2019s efforts to cite positive economic trends as a win for the country. \u201cWe learned this in 2011 and 2012. You can cite data until the cows come home, but what counts is how people are perceiving the economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Schoen had a similar viewpoint on the topic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have no message on inflation. They have no message on the southern border. All that they appear to do is demonize Donald Trump and talk about their statistical record of accomplishment,\u201d he warned. \u201cAnd everything I see in my polls and every other poll says it just isn\u2019t working.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Democratic strategist pointed to the cost of living as the top issue in the 2024 election, saying, \u201cIn an election where inflation is as high as it is and people have trouble at the pump and in the grocery paying their bills, I think this, unlike prior elections, is going to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pennsylvania-georgia-nevada-how-swing-states-economies-could-influence-their-midterm-races\/\" title=\"Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada: How Swing States\u2019 Economies Could Influence Their Midterm Races\">uniquely impacted<\/a> and ultimately decided by the economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Schoen says Biden could still win the election on one condition. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe needs to show more empathy on the economy, on inflation.
