Polymarket, a significant prediction market \u200cplayer, \u200cgives Donald Trump a\u200c 56% probability. \u200bRealClear Polling indicates Trump is ahead of Biden by 1.1%. \u200dPolymarket&#8217;s innovative platform enables betting on events using cryptocurrency, aligning with trends pointing \u200ctowards a\u200d potential Trump \u200bwin.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/commentary\/\">  Commentary <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/michael-schwarz\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/michael-schwarz\/%20\"><span>Michael Schwarz<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 29, 2024 at 12:16pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>When it comes to gauging voters\u2019 expectations ahead of the 2024 presidential election, one time-tested method offers a reliable tool: As the old saying goes, follow the money.<\/p>\n<p>According to the online betting platform <a href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/presidential-election-winner-2024\/will-donald-trump-win-the-2024-us-presidential-election?tid=1716992003757\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Polymarket<\/a>, which <a href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bills itself<\/a> as the \u201cworld\u2019s largest prediction market,\u201d former President Donald Trump had a 56 percent chance of winning the election, compared to only 37 percent for President Joe Biden as of Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/trump-vs-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RealClear Polling<\/a> average of polls shows Trump leading Biden by only 1.1 percent in a head-to-head match-up.<\/p>\n<p>Polymarket has been described as a prediction platform that lets its users place bets on world events. Users buy and sell shares using cryptocurrency to bet on the likelihood of specific events taking place.<\/p>\n<p>For betting purposes, according to Polymarket, only three other individuals had a measurable chance of winning the election: former first lady <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-espn-commentator-stephen-smith-says-michelle-obama-beat-trump-hands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michelle Obama<\/a> (4 percent), Independent candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-rfk-jr-says-full-term-abortions-allowed-doesnt-want-leave-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robert F. Kennedy<\/a> Jr. (2 percent) and Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kamala-harris-end-trumps-vp-election-happen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kamala Harris<\/a> (1 percent).<\/p>\n<p>From the bookmakers\u2019 perspective, of course, the purpose of odds-making is to attract a roughly equal number of bettors on either side. Thus, Trump\u2019s status as the odds-on-favorite means that in order to win $1 on his election, bettors must wager 57 cents on the former president. By contrast, to win $1 in the event of Biden\u2019s re-election, bettors need only wager 37 cents.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, Polymarket must bribe bettors to wager on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/katie-couric-says-biden-trouble-admits-trump-surprised\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden<\/a> by offering better odds. That means that bettors, by a margin of nearly 20 percentage points, expect a Trump victory.<\/p>\n<p>Curiously, as of Wednesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/trump-found-guilty-in-hush-money-case-before-election-day\/trump-found-guilty-in-hush-money-case-before-election-day?tid=1716992033615\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Polymarket<\/a> also showed a 63 percent chance of a guilty verdict in Trump\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-republicans-seek-congressional-gold-medal-for-trump\/\" title=\"House Republicans propose awarding Trump Congressional Gold Medal\">ongoing hush-money trial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That number was down from 87 percent in late April. But it still reflected a widespread belief that the establishment\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-campaign-throws-pretense-window-stunning-move-courthouse-trump-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">banana republic-like persecution of Trump<\/a> will result in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/secret-service-meets-new-york-jail-officials-trump-trial-draws-close-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">conviction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Do you think Donald Trump will win the White House in November?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Indeed, one could scarcely imagine a more fascinating juxtaposition of two different betting odds. On one hand, a strong majority of bettors expect a guilty verdict. On the other hand, another strong majority of bettors expect Trump to win the presidency.<\/p>\n<p>Do those bettors suffer from cognitive dissonance?<\/p>\n<p>Not likely. In fact, considering state-by-state polls, the establishment\u2019s record of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/wife-prison-visit-coordinator-comes-forward-exposes-j6-accuses-treated-worse-murderers-rapists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tyrannical vindictiveness<\/a> and the mood of an awakening electorate, those two bets make all the sense in the world.<\/p>\n<p>As for polling, Trump\u2019s 1.1 percent head-to-head lead over Biden tells only a fraction of the story.<\/p>\n<p>For one thing, the election will involve more than Trump and Biden. With Kennedy and other candidates added to the mix, Trump\u2019s lead in the RealClear Polling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/trump-vs-biden-vs-kennedy-vs-west-vs-stein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">average<\/a> increased to 1.8 percent.<\/p>\n<p>More importantly, RealClear Polling has shown Trump holding small yet consistent leads in the presumptive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-shows-signs-swing-state-domination-new-poll-will-give-biden-nightmares\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">swing states<\/a> of Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, recent Democratic strongholds such as <a href=\"https:\/\/scholars.unh.edu\/cgi\/viewcontent.cgi?article=1793&#038;context=survey_center_polls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Hampshire<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/kstp.com\/kstp-news\/top-news\/kstp-surveyusa-poll-hush-money-trial-leaves-no-impact-on-presidential-race-in-minnesota\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota<\/a> have trended toward Trump. In fact, both now belong in the swing-state category.<\/p>\n<p>The same could hold true for deep-blue <a href=\"https:\/\/emersoncollegepolling.com\/new-jersey-2024-poll-majority-of-democrats-support-kim-for-u-s-senate-nomination\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Jersey<\/a> and even deeper-blue <a href=\"https:\/\/scri.siena.edu\/2024\/05\/22\/72-of-nyers-support-peaceful-demonstrations-in-support-of-gaza-61-say-demonstrators-have-forgotten-hamas-started-war-it-now-feels-like-demonstrations-have-crossed-line-into-anti-semitism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York<\/a>. Biden won those states by 16 and 23 percentage points, respectively, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.presidency.ucsb.edu\/statistics\/elections\/2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2020 presidential election<\/a>. In recent weeks, however, Trump has held <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-nfl-legend-lawrence-taylor-joins-trump-stage-announces-left-democratic-party-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">massive rallies<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cnn-reporter-admits-truth-trumps-bronx-rally-not-democrats-want-see\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">both states<\/a>, as Biden\u2019s lead has shrunk to single digits.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a poll released Wednesday showed Trump and Biden tied in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roanoke.edu\/news\/rc_poll_politics_may_2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Virginia<\/a>. In 2020, Biden won the Old Dominion by more than 10 points.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, bettors have plenty of polling evidence to justify their pro-Trump wagers.<\/p>\n<p>Those same bettors have also seen the lengths to which the establishment and its minions will go in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-explains-able-hold-together-facing-four-indictments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">persecuting Trump<\/a> and his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/another-jan-6-defendant-dies-suicide-awaiting-trial-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">supporters<\/a>. With that in mind, bettors (and voters) have good reasons to expect a guilty verdict from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-merchan-clears-courtroom-can-scold-trump-defense-teams-star-witness-nobodys-ever-seen-anything-like\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rigged trial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore \u2014 and here is the really significant revelation \u2014 bettors might expect a Trump victory in the 2024 election in part <em>because<\/em> they also expect a guilty verdict in his ongoing trial.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, bettors have taken the electorate\u2019s temperature. They recognize that many Americans have awakened to the establishment\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/2024-election-biden-government-lost-consent-governed-majority-americans-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">diabolical authoritarianism<\/a>. So they know that a Trump conviction would only drive the former president\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-criticizes-new-york-cases-in-first-battleground-rallies-after-gag-order\/\" title=\"Trump condemns New York cases in initial battleground rallies post restraining order\">poll numbers higher<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If they expected otherwise, they would bet on a conviction and a Biden re-election victory. But they do not. And that speaks volumes about how a majority of Americans view the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-tucker-carlson-takes-aim-wannabe-dictator-joe-biden-latest-twitter-show\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tyrannical Biden regime<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
