The effort is led by Michael Gableman, who was hired by Vos to investigate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-real-clear-politics-say-they-never-called-pennsylvania\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Real Clear Politics -- SAY THEY NEVER CALLED PENNSYLVANIA\">election fraud<\/a> claims in Wisconsin. The group has gathered over 9,000 signatures, surpassing the required \u20646,850 from Vos&#8217;s district. This recall attempt\u200c is supported by supporters of former President Donald Trump\u200d who previously failed\u2064 to recall Vos.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/wisconsin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Wisconsin<\/a> Assembly leader Robin Vos faces <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2944671\/trump-supporters-launch-second-recall-attempt-on-wisconsin-state-assembly-leader\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>another recall attempt<\/a> from the same group after the first one against him failed. <\/p>\n<p>The first attempt failed after many signatures were found to be fraudulent. Michael Gableman, a former Wisconsin Supreme Court justice and lawyer Vos hired and subsequently fired to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sussmann-judge-rejects-prosecutors-protests-after-juror-reveals-tie-to-defendant\/\" title=\"Sussmann Judge Rejects Prosecutors\u2019 Protests After Juror Reveals Tie To Defendant\">investigate false claims<\/a> of election fraud in the 2020 election in Wisconsin, is helping lead the effort. The group announced it gathered 9,000 signatures, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/wisconsin-speaker-recall-robin-vos-republican-0f52a503aa710b7c46e93fb42799bc80\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>more than<\/a> the 6,850 it needed from Vos\u2019s district. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe didn\u2019t spend a lot of thought or time strategizing on the first recall about how to prevent or how to block the recall process from being invaded or sabotaged by people who were not invited \u2014 those people who came from out of state,\u201d Gableman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2024\/05\/28\/supporters-of-trump-again-seek-to-oust-vos-through-recall-after-failing-once\/73877231007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a>. \u201cWhen the sufficient number of signatures is validated out of this batch, Robin is going to lose the recall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The group looking to recall him is the same group of supporters of former President <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a> that failed to recall him earlier this year. Trump opposed Vos\u2019s decision not to impeach the state\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-rules-ca-gov-overstepped-his-authority-with-covid-order-issues-permanent-injunction-restraining-newsom-from-further-issuing-unconstitutional-orders\/\" title=\"Judge Rules CA Gov Overstepped His Authority with Covid Order, Issues Permanent Injunction Restraining Newsom From Further Issuing Unconstitutional Orders\">election officials<\/a> and instead certify the 2020 election results in Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<p>Vos called the group trying to recall him \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2929968\/wisconsin-assembly-speaker-calls-trump-supporters-whack-jobs-morons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>whack jobs and morons<\/a>\u201d after the Wisconsin Elections Commission found the first recall did not have enough <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2916445\/majority-of-signatures-pro-trump-wisconsin-recall-effort-declared-invalid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>valid signatures<\/a> from Vos\u2019s district and that some were forged. Vos even found his own falsified signature on the recall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSignatures were forged (including those of children), recall signers were lied to and threatened into signing, and out-of-state felons were used to gather signatures,\u201d Vos said of the first recall attempt. <\/p>\n<p>While he was not involved with the first recall attempt, Gableman emerged to help the second attempt. He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2024\/04\/12\/michael-gableman-gives-legal-aid-to-those-seeking-to-oust-robin-vos\/73291430007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a> the first attempt was \u201cintentionally sabotaged\u201d by out-of-state influences. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The petitioners], in fact, had a two-hour meeting with the FBI because they, and based on what I\u2019ve heard and read, I believe that recall 1.0 was intentionally sabotaged, it was infiltrated by outsiders from New York and Florida,\u201d Gableman said. \u201cI can\u2019t say whether it was done at the behest of Robin Vos or on his behalf.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vos, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/top-democrats-urge-biden-to-keep-chicago-prosecutor-probing-corrupt-pols\/\" title=\"Top Democrats Urge Biden to Keep Chicago Prosecutor Probing Corrupt Pols\">longest-serving speaker<\/a> in Wisconsin\u2019s history, has been the speaker of Wisconsin\u2019s lower chamber since 2013 and in the Assembly since 2005.
