Facing \u200blawsuits from state and federal authorities, his operation is under scrutiny \u2063following a drunk driving \u2062conviction in November 2023.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>The man behind the much-maligned Colony Ridge development in Texas was sentenced to 45 days in jail after pleading guilty to two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/barack-obama-copies-wife-again-launches-podcast-with-new-jersey-man-arrested-for-dwi\/\" title=\"Barack Obama Copies Wife Again, Launches Podcast with New Jersey Man Arrested for DWI\">drunk driving charges<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>William \u201cTrey\u201d Harris is one of the developers behind Colony Ridge, a sprawling land development outside of Houston, Texas that has allegedly used financial and marketing tactics to systematically attract illegal immigrants as its clientele. He\u2019s been in the spotlight since a series of investigations into his development, which is now facing lawsuits from both state and federal officials regarding his operation.<\/p>\n<p>The first of the two driving while intoxicated charges came in November 2023, when Harris was <a href=\"https:\/\/houstonlanding.org\/colony-ridge-developer-sentenced-to-45-days-in-walker-county-jail-for-drunk-driving\/\">charged<\/a> with a Class A misdemeanor, the most severe misdemeanor charge. Harris\u2019 blood alcohol levels were found to be twice the legal limit at over .15. The Colony Ridge developer was then charged with driving while intoxicated again in February.<\/p>\n<p>The Colony Ridge developer, who has been in jail since May 17, will now be required to serve a total of 45 days in the county jail and pay $12,000 in court fees. Harris is also barred from driving a car until late November.<\/p>\n<p>The Colony Ridge developer\u2019s sentence comes with his development under siege by government investigations. The Department of Justice and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced in December that the two federal agencies were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-doj-sues-colony-ridge-for-bait-and-switch-sales-predatory-financing\">launching a joint lawsuit<\/a> against Colony Ridge, alleging that the development engaged in predatory financing and bait-and-switch sales while churning through borrowers \u201cin a cycle of foreclosure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Colony Ridge was hit by another lawsuit earlier this year, this one from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Paxton told The Daily Wire that \u201cliterally every sale\u201d made by Colony Ridge, which is estimated to have roughly 75,000 residents, could have been in violation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bank-of-america-fined-millions-for-opening-fake-accounts-and-charging-extra-junk-fees\/\" title=\"Bank of America fined millions for fraudulent accounts and excessive fees.\">consumer financial protection law<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTypically under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-ron-desantis-signs-bill-cracking-down-on-big-tech-these-platforms-have-become-our-public-square\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Ron DeSantis Signs Bill Cracking Down On Big Tech: \u2018These Platforms Have Become Our Public Square\u2019\">deceptive trade practice<\/a>, it\u2019s $10,000 per violation,\u201d Paxton explained in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/podcasts\/morning-wire\/deportation-paperwork-failure-squatter-takeover-3-21-24\">an interview<\/a>. \u201cI think they\u2019re targeting Hispanics.
