The whole thing is rigged. The charges are rigged,\u201d Trump told reporters Wednesday. \u201cMother Teresa could not beat these charges, but we\u2019ll see.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Trump took the opportunity outside the courthouse to criticize New York Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan, who is presiding over the matter. Trump accused Merchan of being corrupt and of mistreating defense witness Bob Costello, who once acted as the lawyer for Trump\u2019s former personal attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/michael-cohen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Michael Cohen<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-derek-chauvin-trial-coverage-to-ninth-day\/\" title=\"The Derek Chauvin Trial \u2013 Coverage to Ninth Day\">prosecution witness<\/a>. He complained that Merchan had prevented Brad Smith, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-anti-trump-lincoln-project-facing-questions-over-spending-practices\/\" title=\"Report: Anti-Trump Lincoln Project Facing Questions Over Spending Practices\">campaign finance expert<\/a>, from testifying, though that is <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/fact-check-brad-smith-testify-trump-trial-907236056289\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"not correct.\">not correct<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe judge is so conflicted that he can\u2019t breathe,\u201d Trump said. \u201cThis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-donated-to-george-soros-fund\/\" title=\"Judge contributed to George Soros' foundation\">judge contributed<\/a> to Joe Biden and far worse than that, but I\u2019m not allowed to talk about it because of a gag order.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019ll be talked about, but I\u2019m not allowed to talk about it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Trump also scrutinized Biden, his Democratic rival in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>2024 election<\/a>, but asserted the president is not \u201csmart enough\u201d to have conspired against him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s destroying our country,\u201d Trump said. \u201cHe\u2019s letting millions of people from jails, from prisons, from insane asylums, from mental institutions, drug dealers, pour in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re gonna win this election,\u201d he continued. \u201cNov. 5 is going to be the most important day in the history of our country. We\u2019re going to take back our country from these fascists and these thugs that are destroying us with inflation, and with everything they do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump, too, took aim at Robert De Niro after the actor was part of a Biden campaign press conference outside the courthouse this week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey [had] a protest with Robert De Niro yesterday. He\u2019s a fool, he\u2019s a broken-down fool standing out there. He got MAGA-ed. He got MAGA-ed yesterday.
