But it strikes me as political posturing in the wake of the <em>Dobbs<\/em> decision to try to mislead people into thinking everything is up for grabs having to do with sex. It\u2019s fearmongering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The blueprint also proposes companies no longer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthinsurance.org\/faqs\/are-vasectomies-and-condoms-covered-under-acas-preventive-health-services-coverage-mandate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>cover<\/a> male condoms, saying federal health officials \u201cshould not incorporate exclusively male contraceptive methods into guidelines that specify they encompass only women\u2019s services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInstead of a mandate of a particular potentially abortifacient drug, it should be opt-in instead of opt-out,\u201d Severino said. \u201cMandates are a difficult thing to impose on the American people, especially when you have something as fraught as issues of potential loss of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3016442\/three-times-trump-gave-local-outlets-scoop-new-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>when asked<\/a> by KDKA in Pittsburgh if he supported restrictions on contraception, Trump answered that \u201cwe\u2019re looking at that, and I\u2019m going to have a policy on that very shortly and I think it\u2019s something that you\u2019ll find interesting,\u201d adding that the plan would be released \u201csoon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He quickly walked back the statement. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI HAVE NEVER, AND WILL NEVER ADVOCATE IMPOSING RESTRICTIONS ON BIRTH CONTROL, or other contraceptives,\u201d Trump posted on Truth Social.<\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden\u2019s campaign was quick to harp on the statement. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen across the country are already suffering from Donald Trump\u2019s post-<em>Roe<\/em> nightmare, and if he wins a second term, it\u2019s clear he wants to go even further by restricting access to birth control and emergency contraceptives,\u201d Biden campaign spokeswoman Sarafina Chitika said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>During his presidency, Trump made it harder to get birth control for some by allowing employers to opt out of covering birth control.
