I was ready not to vote for Trump, until what I saw is, more than politics, I see a weaponization of our justice system and a challenge to our Constitution,\u201d the actor said. \u201cTrump is the most investigated person, probably in the history of the world, and they haven\u2019t been able to really get him on anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Quaid then praised Trump for his foreign policy, saying the former president \u201cstood up for us overseas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe way he responded to China,\u201d the actor continued, \u201che stands up to people, and that\u2019s what makes him a leader. Rather than, what I kind of compare it to, what was going on in Jimmy Carter\u2019s administration, where we\u2019re trying to be everybody\u2019s friend and pal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople might call [Trump] an a\u2013shole, but he\u2019s my a\u2013hole,\u201d Quaid continued. <\/p>\n<p>Quaid\u2019s interview came the same <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-pressers-confirm-get-trump-lawfare-is-a-campaign-stunt\/\" title=\"Biden's Press Conferences Confirm \"Get Trump\" Lawfare as Campaign Stunt\">day closing arguments<\/a> were made in the Manhattan lawfare trial against the former president in which the only <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/20\/the-only-discernible-crime-in-trump-trial-is-michael-cohen-admitting-to-stealing-30000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">discernible crime<\/a> thus far seems to be that the star witness, Michael Cohen, stole money from the Trump Organization.<\/p>\n<p>But the trial is the product of a weaponized justice system, as Quaid noted.  <\/p>\n<p>Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who campaigned on a \u201cget-Trump\u201d agenda, accused Trump of wrongly classifying payments he allegedly made to Cohen to purchase the silence of pornographer Stormy Daniels as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-president-trump-to-pardon-gen-michael-flynn-per-report\/\" title=\"BREAKING: President Trump to Pardon Gen. Michael Flynn, Per Report\">legal fees<\/a> rather than campaign expenses.<\/p>\n<p>But the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/22\/aoc-admits-lawfare-is-an-ankle-bracelet-keeping-trump-from-campaign-trail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawfare trial<\/a> has achieved perhaps its most important goal \u2014 kneecapping Trump\u2019s ability to, well, be a presidential candidate. Trump has been severely restricted from campaigning since he has been required to sit in court four days out of the week for a case experts on both sides have cast doubt on. <\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden and the Democrats have made it clear that their campaign strategy hinges on the weaponization of the justice system as evidenced by Biden\u2019s campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/16\/biden-fundraises-off-lawfare-circus-after-taunting-trump-for-being-stuck-in-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fundraising<\/a> off the lawfare and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/28\/biden-pressers-confirm-get-trump-lawfare-is-a-campaign-stunt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">publicity stunts outside<\/a> the courthouse.<\/p>\n<p>Trump is also fighting <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/this-week-in-lawfare-land\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">off other lawfare cases<\/a> brought against him by local and state actors, as well as Biden\u2019s own Department of Justice.
