Bill Lee and goes into effect July 1.<\/p>\n<p>It is one of a pair of bills that Sen. Ferrell Haile, R-Gallatin, said will help the state sue the federal government over the costs of illegal immigration in Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>The other, House Bill 2774, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/tennessee\/article_14a96c66-1834-11ef-b1c2-a7cf682ef21c.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>previously signed<\/strong><\/a> by Lee.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.capitol.tn.gov\/Bills\/113\/Amend\/HA1014.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Senate Bill 757<\/strong><\/a> requires <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/president-trump-pledges-orderly-transition-of-power\/\" title=\"President Trump pledges orderly transition of power\">local law enforcement<\/a> to verify the citizenship of a detainee and report the individual to the DAGC if found to be illegally in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Those arrested will need to supply a Social Security card or number, a Tennessee drivers\u2019 license or photo identification, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mnuchin-600-stimulus-payments-could-be-deposited-starting-tonight\/\" title=\"Mnuchin: 0 Stimulus Payments Could Be Deposited Starting Tonight\">green card<\/a> or student visa, a valid passport, United States birth certificate or a certificate of naturalization.<\/p>\n<p>A stipulation was put into the law allowing law enforcement to judge if an individual is a homeless resident of the United States without proper documentation.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Local law enforcement in Tennessee is now required to verify the citizenship of detainees and report to the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference if any individual is discovered to be in the country unlawfully.
